I use to go there frequently with work associates after a weeks work on Fridays. Only had the chili which was decent enough I guess. Beers and shots are cheap. Total shit hole with small piss filled toilets and bathrooms. Gotta pay for pool now which is bogus, even though it's only a $1 still a rip off. All and all a nice place to go and get blacked out drunk and forget about your problems. Will be going there until I die.
Review Source:Ok you name a bar after the local NFL team and people will come. This is a big dive dump bar near Midway airport that somewhow has not been sued yet for having this name. The food was not too bad, but the place seemed like a typical young college bar except there is not a college within miles of this place. A very beer smelling place I don't think anybody who misses this hard to find bar is not really missing anything.
Review Source:Went to this place back when I was living near Midway, eating cereal in the morning while watching Southwest Airlines beach ball themed aircraft taking off from outside my window. It's on a desolate 2 block strip of Central ave between 63rd and 65th streets. You blink, you miss it. From the outside it looked more like a penitentiary than a bar. But after walking in I was pleasantly surprised. Never tried the food but for these reasons it's worth a visit,
1) It has an unofficial jail-like gimmick, not really any windows but cozy.
2) Flat Screen TVs for sports viewing pleasure.
3) $1 PBR pints in a frosty glass, SOLD!
The Bear is definitely a diamond in the rough. A cool little neighborhood bar that I would even recommend for anyone picking up friends or family at Midway. Stop in and have a brew, it beats the hell out of waiting in a cell phone lot!
