Taco El Jalisciense

I cannot tell you how excited I am that they opened a new location while the #1 is being remodeled! Oh how I have missed those tacos, that guacamole... tears have been shed on the failed quest to find a replacement.

I need search no more!  I stuffed my face with those same tacos today, in all of their glory at the newly opened #2. If I could give them 100 stars I would. Nicest, friendliest, coolest owners ever! Excellent food. My favorite!

They are back. Albeit a different location and a whole new shop... but back!

Magnificent flavors still rise to the occasion and out-perform expectations.

I believe a lot of folks pretty much just see tacos as tacos, with some  good and some less than good.

Like such a seemingly simple or commonplace food can't rise to the occasion of actually having real craft and flavor applied to it, without bringing in some over-hyped chef-speak that tries to elevate something that is not gourmet, into the gourmet epicurian realm with all sorts of pretentious obscure food-talk and terms.

Screw all that- you don't need it - this place delivers truly amazing and beautiful flavors to their very well-crafted foods.

The marinaded meats are testaments that prove these people care about what they are doing.

Pastor- Probably the best you can get in Chicago and further!
Marinated Steak - from another planet is the only explanation I can give.

These folks make their foods from fresh ingredients, to-order, in real-time.

Although I was not able to try the guacamole this time (the opening day of this new shop) - I can say that if they didn't change the way they make it, it is truly fantastic, and can't be any fresher, as it is made to order, and not in a bin waiting to get scooped out.

Although this location is no longer in my neighborhood and technically not convenient, I will most certainly make the trip to procure my taco habits from here- You can't put a price on better value.
