Riverside Cafe

Thank god for this place! In all my years of waiting on the Clybourn metra platform freezing my ass off, I always wished there were a cafe or something close by to warm up in!
Cheap, great coffee and friendly atmosphere. I'l definitely be here the next time I have to travel to the burbs again!

as long as this place has been around i'm surprised i'm the 2nd to review!  this is true neighborhood gem!  I love the decor, the folks who own this restaurant are a mexican woman and a puertorican man and they have kept the spirit of chicago alive with their menu and their restaurant decor.  the workers do a great job of remembering you each time you return.  the outdoor cafe eatery is so nice and relaxing.  I love it here!  I hope it never closes.

We found it as a fluke when cutting through the Sheraton for a river walk away from the usual crowds.  The decor isn't a show-stopper, but merely a neatly laid out cafe-style arrangement. If it wasn't for the fire oven, one might even consider it a cafeteria. The service was prompt and always friendly.

There is only one reason I am reviewing this establishment, even though it is no longer open for dinner. It served an angel hair dish with fire-roasted vegetables which was the best I recall having - ever. There was little they needed to do with it in the way of too much oil, sauce, or the typical attempts at Italian pasta dishes which border on soup. Instead, this was perfect.

If you're ever in the area for lunch and it's still on the menu, give it a try.
