As I shared with my FB friends the other night:
"a fake, talking, one-legged parrot is not necessarily what I expected from my Thursday night, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth"
A good friend had the in on Ray's Tiki Bar, and I am so glad I tagged along! Â In the midst of the Wicker Park streets, all of the sudden I felt like I was in Key West. Â Chill, down to earth, Jimmy Buffet & Bob Marley playing - nickel beers - what fun. Â Also our bartender that night had a winning personality - as did the patrons.
Can't wait to go back... and can't wait to meet THE actual Ray one day!
Ray's is where it's at. The service is top notch and prices are best I've seen in the whole city of Chicago (for example- penny shots/5 cent beer night).Ladies are always respected and taken care of at Ray's. It's almost as if every night is "ladies night". Beach wear is strongly encouraged but not mandatory, so don't be afraid to show some skin.
The only minor issue I have is with the security. Â Sometimes the back door is left unlocked which could invite in some shady characters. However, when this occurs, the staff properly escorts them out and puts their picture up on the banned wall to ensure they never get in again.
If you are looking for tropical time in Wicker Park, you should check out Rays. With their flabongo, coconut cups, and tiki mugs- life is a beach when you're at Rays.
