Saturday evening, heading downtown and this place is right across from the Damen Pink Line station -- convenient location and BYOB.

National Geographic covers plastering the walls -- interesting in a good way.  Bright, airy restaurant.

// The Food, The Tacos

Love the salsa bar! Great home made salsas to choose from--at no extra charge. However, when we were there the chips were running low and we got a lot of crumbs.

* Chorizo Quesadilla -- Chroizo. Cheese. yum. Not

* Chicken Flautas-- It is what it is. But with all the food we had, these weren't memorable.

* Fish Tacos -- oh my! These are great, as far as fish tacos go.

Summary: Location, location, location (if you live of the pink line, super convenient). Good salsa bar and BYO. What more could you want? Oh yeah, good tacos. Check.

The only downside is that they aren't open past 4p on weekdays :(

WOW! this is our new spot! it's got everything.. our food tastes good and it's made with really good and fresh ingredients. Most places don't put thought in the presentation of their food, but El Fua does.. and it's AMAZEBALLS!

Not sure why they changed their name from Abuelo's to Fua...It doesn't matter, we'll come here as often as we can.

Everything we've tried is really good and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is excellent as well.

El Fua is the former Abuelo's. They just had to change their name because of the other Abuelo's somewhere in Texas.

I was curious what this new name was all about so I looked it up online while I was waiting for my food. To my utter amusement, I learned that the name stems from a viral YouTube video of a drunk bum in Nayarit, Mexico who claims to have the "Fua" or supernatural powers.

Fua Guy (0:15): You, you want to be a bada$$, but you try to sink others for yourself.

Fua Guy (0:25): This guy will live more years than you or me combined.

Fua Guy (0:31): I can't do it, I can't do it! But I'm going to take out the Fua! And I will take it out. Why? Because I have to give the extra FUA strong character. I go and I take it out.

Fua Guy (0:50): The FUA means when you extract the character/discipline from your stomach and you say, "I will do it". "But I can't, I can't, I can't". How can you not? FUA! FUA! And then I take out the charater and I take out the strength and power as well. That is the Fua.

Fua Guy (1:22): It doesn't matter what you do or have, the most important thing is to give extra, the FUA. FUA means to give extra. The, the thing that projects TO the universe, that's what it is.

Fua Guy (1:56): When a person is dead and you're told: "THAT'S IT, leave him he's dead"...NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! FUA! FUA! FUA! and you will revive him. And WHEN that person is of service to society, that is when you give the FUA. When you do FUA, that is the real FUA..

Fua Guy (2:28): When you give Fua, that is the real Fua.
