Hello,FOOD SNOB here. Â Isla Azul means Blue Island. Â For the street its on. Â As I parked on the street and was ready to put money in the meter, a man yelled out to me in spanish. Â Then I knew it was a hispanic neighborhood. Â I said "no comprenda", he than spoke english. Â As far as this joint, and it is a joint. Â All BLUE booths when you go in. Â Kind of a diner and fish market when you go in. Â There specialty is CEVICHE. Â Fish marinated in lime juice. Â The acid in the juice cooks the fish. Â This is also a specialty of Frontera Grill in Chicago, which I am hoping to try soon. Â However much more reasonable in price. Â House specialty here is TOSTDADA DI CEVICHE. Â It could be Shrimp, Crab, Herring, Calimari, or Octupus. Â I had the crab and the herring. Â The crab was the imitation kind BUT it was reaaly good mixed with onion, tomatoe, celery, and jalepeno. Â The herring was even better. Â Its great if you like ceviche or something different. Â Its a lighter type meal, but very tastey. Â They even have Menudo and different soups. Â My secretary who told me about this place brought to work some shrimp diablo she had left over. Â Even after she heated it up in the microwave it tasted great.
THANKS YOLIE!!
