The decor and ambience of this place are what make it. Â The food is pretty good and the menu is unique, but the portions are small, particularly considering the prices. Â I tried one pastry and was not a fan, but I've gotten a couple cappucinos that I enjoyed. Â Today, I tried the salmon tartine which was TINY. Â In the past, I ordered other sandwiches that, like the tartine, were delicious, but left me hungry. Â I'd go back for lunch on a day when I have snacks to help me make it through the afternoon. Â They do have a lot of vegetarian options. Â It's not a fantastic place to sit for a long time because the chairs are uncomfortable, but if you can snag a spot by a window, you can get in some good people watching. Â If you need to go to the bathroom, it's inconveniently located.
Review Source:CHOCOLATE DOME CAKE. The finest thing to ever hit a chocoholics taste buds. Do not make the mistake I did and buy just one. Be a pig and buy two. I bought one, liked it sooo much I went to get another one. They were all GONE! When I bought them there were 5 left. When I went back, someone was purchasing the rest. The secret is out.
Don't buy one, buy two! Â This place was so friendly and warm. Entirely unexpected in the loop. The owner kept coming by our table and asking if everything was good. I liked that! And everything was more than good. It was Delicious! I'd give you guys 5 stars...but I gained like 5 lbs eating here.
So I had to take one star away. Not really your fault. Mine. Â Chocolate Dome Cake. EAT IT!
I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and mini French lesson. (The indicator for where to deliver the plate is not a number, but is a letter and with it...there is a French word.) The scene is very Euro-cafe and I enjoyed my window seat looking East toward Michigan Avenue. Â My sandwich was excellent and a decent serving size for the price. The staff was friendly and attentive to cleaning up as plates were made empty. I definitely look forward to my next visit & I'm sure there will be a sweet treat involved next time as they do look fresh & divine!
There's no free wi-fi and that's the reason for a missing star.
