All of the mouthwatering culinary goodness of fine dining with gourmet ingredients and preparation with none of the trappings and pretentiousness of fine dining.
Want to show up in jeans and a Misfits shirt? Â Cool. Â Want to show up in a suit. Â No problem. Â Want to listen to your music damn loud while you're loving on handmade gnocchi in truffle peccorino cheese? Â They've got you, man. Â The chefs have tattoos and Star Wars shirts. Â They sing with the music, they crack jokes. Â Stuffy gourmet with classical music and tuxedos, this ain't.
I attended their first official dinner service - a ten course beast of a menu that even though it was small plated, provided more than enough quality food for their price point.
Their current space was a little hard to find - lovingly nestled in a furniture warehouse a few blocks north of The Hideout, but you're not going here for the atmosphere (although if you like couches and chairs, you'll be set), you're going here for the food - which is exceptional. Â Standouts include a salad with pureed avocado and blood oranges, an incredible butternut squash soup with fingerling potato chips brown butter and shallot puree, the aforementioned gnocchi, and a sushi-inspired course of pork belly and seared scallop.
BYOB (the staff encourages sharing as well) Â Discount Wine Outlet is a block and a half away.
