Garden Of Eden

Just ate here for lunch the other day and I had one of the best meals.  The lunch special for only $6.99 was a generous serving of shwirma on a bed of rice and hummos with soup and salad.  The food was amazing!  This was one of the best shwirma meals I have had in Chicago.  Check them out.

Please do yourself a favor and try this place.

Really solid Middle Eastern food, some of the best I've had in the area and we have plenty to choose from around here.

We started with the the hummus. Excellent, with crispy pita bread served on the side. It's almost as good as my wife's, and she's a trained chef. The dinner came with a salad or soup, we went for the lentil soup, which was wonderful on a cool evening.

The wife ordered the falafil dinner, and I went for the chicken kebabs. Her falafil was very good, unlike the poisonous tasting falafil I get at OMG cafe near North Ave. Crispy and delicious. I ordered the chicken because it's a barometer of how the place cooks their food. If it's dry and unpalatable, then never mind. Fortunately it was tender and juicy, with a ton of flavor. I asked for the same sauce the wife got with her falafil, and they were happy to provide it. I didn't really need it, but it made the meal that much better.

Once we were done the owner came over and talked to us. Such a nice guy. Gave us a free baklava desert and it was an outstanding pistachio, flaky, delicious thing. Our waitress was also awesome throughout the whole meal.

Had no idea this place was around the corner until I saw the previous reviews, and they're spot on. So head on over, 5 stars!

Love this place!  The best Shawarma in the area. The owner is friendly and welcomes you like family. Just a simple place with great food.
