Came here a couple days ago before a movie because Pequods was packed. Someone came up to greet us and took our orders fine/answered questions just fine. I'm a huge admirer of fried chicken so of course I ordered it as the waiter said it was award-winning.
It took a bit to get which is fine but it was awful. It was the saltiest chicken I've ever had in my life. The breading honestly felt like a 50/50 mix of salt and dry, grainy shake n bake. I can deal with salty and thoroughly enjoy mcdonalds fries and such but I considered sending the food back it was that bad (and only upper middle class women do that). The chicken itself was fine and cooked through but the outside is always the best part.
The macaroni and cheese wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. The whole-grain rotini just didn't work. My girlfriend had some chicken sandwich that she said was dry but she complains about everything so whatever.
Their house BBQ sauce is really good though and they do give you plenty of napkins.
The waiter disappeared for awhile (and we were the only ones there) and didn't refill our drinks but at the end he did bring and pickup the check promptly because we said we had to go to a movie.
I didn't order it but they also charge $2 for cheese on a burger which is gouging for a place that has pretty mediocre food.
Not a 1-star because it's not like I got sick (although my mouth was dry the rest of the night from all the salt) but I just can't give it 3 stars because the food was so atrocious.
This is, by far, the WORST restaurant I have ever been to. The waiter/manager was obviously drunk/hung over and he spilled wine all over our table as he poured it. Â Note: there was no wine list, we were just offered the choice of red or white. Â Food was warmed over disaster. They "sold" us the brisket, which they said had been smoking for 24 hours and it was chewy and disgusting. Â Warmed over mac n cheese was inedible with some type of "curds" on top. Â The whole restaurant is carpeted and appears to have recently been convered from someones horrible studio apt. Â The experience was so horrible that we cried laughing. Â AVOID AT ALL COST.
