We ordered the egg drop soup and got a strange colored soup that we were not sure if it was fresh.
We then ordered shrimp and vegetable dumplings both of which tasted stale. We are not connoisseurs of Chinese food and maybe this was good food. But we could not go beyond our first orders or run the risk of eating something fishy and falling sick on a road trip.
I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
HORRIBLE, COMPLETELY AND ABSOLUTELY, the service was very bad, and the food was a slimy pile of salt laden grossness. The server never returned to fill our water even one time, we had to ask the manager/hostess who showed considerable dismay when doing so. 90% of both my, and my wife's dish, went into the garbage. Also, I think the place is very dirty, all the booths are torn and worn, with virtually no padding, I would guess 10 years past their serviceable lifespan. If you go in the men's bathroom before you order, you would walk out....it is that gross and that is a place the customer sees, I cannot imagine what the kitchen looks like. Had I read the reviews, I would have avoided this business altogether.

I am sorry to say that this place has gone down hill!! If you are heading out for chinese food DO NOT GO HERE HUNGRY!! I went here with another couple for dinner and we ordered ample amounts of food and to our surprise it was not enough!! 4 chicken wings in an order and two scoops of rice in an order!! They hardly give enough for two people!! PORTIONS are way to small for the price they charge!!!! Also we told the waitress that the wontons and the scallion pancake was burnt and she said I can have another batch made but it will be the same??? We spoke to the manager who was less than helpful!! She wasn't concerned that we were unhappy and didn't care if we ever came back!!! After paying the 94 dollar bill (with only fountain drinks purchased) we headed over to subway to get a sub because we were all still hungry!
Confused. Â Very. Â
Wandering around the Lincoln area for an overnight birthday roadtrip on Sunday, we stumbled upon Chieng Garden which appeared to be open relatively late when no one else was. Â I ran upstairs, snagged a menu and headed for a few hours of poolside fun until we were ready to order. Â Flashforward to 10pm. Â After spending a good 5 minutes wondering what to feast on in all of my indecisiveness, I picked up the phone and dialed. Â ....Nothing. Â I dialed again. Â ...Nothing. Â A couple more times for good measure. Â ....Nothing. Â Loaded up in the car and drove over. Â ....Nothing. Â No one home. Â
So basically, the hours on their door, menu and advertisement appeared to be totally incorrect with no explanation to be found. Â Ultimately, we ended up finding a lone pizza place still open but still, disappointing!
So, to all the road trippers out there: I'd call ahead & ask what time they close if you plan on dining late.
While exploring around Lincoln town, this seemed to be one of the few if not the only Chinese restaurant. I walked into the restaurant fully prepared for unauthentic food, but was pleasantly surprised. We only ordered hot and sour soup and lamb cooked in two ways, it was enough for the two of us. The main dish comes with a bowl of rice. The hot and sour soup was full of ingredients, mushrooms, egg, minced meat, scallions, you name it. It's actually one of the better tasting hot and sour soup I have had anywhere, they get the proportions of the spices quite good and the consistency of the soup is also controlled very well. The lamb cooked in two ways is also fairly authentic, one cooked with onion and the other with mushroom and pepper. The vegetables are very fresh. Both meat and veggies are cooked nicely, the lamb is tender and the vegetables crunchy. The staff is extremely friendly and the service very fast, definitely don't have to wait for long for food. Definitely worth a stop if you are craving for Chinese food in the area!
Review Source:Ummm...........here we go for another Yelp average, very incorrect.
I will give them this....luch special are cheap, at $ 6.25 for ANY of them, including the shrimp ones.  This includes fried rice, chicken wings, and soup.
The positives end there.  The hot and sour came out without scallions floating on top, which almost always is a flag to me, and surer than s***, it was gummy and crappy.
The fried rice was mailed in, as was everything I saw or ordered.  The key moment was the large piece of the scouring pad in the rice that I got.  It was from one of those really coarse ball type pads one uses to scrub hard core pans, and it was long and luxurious.
To their credit, they did take $8 dollars off, but the sight of it ended the meal for me.
GrandMa asked for soy sauce as the food arrived, the waiter repeated it twice, and never brought it.  I had to go up personally and start foraging about before another waieter asked me what I was doing, and got it for me.
Every time we visit the White Mountains, we stop to eat at Chieng Garden. Â We've tasted a lot of the dishes on their menu and are always impressed with the freshness of the vegetables they use. Â I enjoy the fact that they don't overcook the vegetables. Â Their spicy string beans are crisp, not soggy. Â I also recommend their hot and sour soup. Â
The jasmine tea is a nice change from the "typical" Chinese restaurant tea. Â The service is always friendly and quick, but not pushy. Â It's refreshing to find a restaurant in a tourist area that serves good food at reasonable prices.
Only ordered takeout from here, when the place was about to close for the night because I'm a dickhead who fucked up making dinner for my girlfriend and her nephews. But enough about that, this place was really good and the owners were incredibly nice even though I kept them from closing up for like half an hour.
Review Source:Located on the 2nd floor of the Lincoln Square (above Elvio's Pizzeria). Chieng Gardens offers the basic Chinese fare, chef specialties, and luncheon specials. The interior of the dining area is bright with walls and high ceilings (along roof) painted a very light green and dark green wood trim. The center tables had linen table cloths and pink linen napkins. The booth tables (no linens) near the windows have a very nice view of the mountains. The friendly waiters are dressed in white dress shirts and black pants.
I stopped here for a lunch break during skiing at Loon. I was seated near the window, given complementary hot tea and ice water, and I ordered the Pork Lo Mein luncheon special ($5.95 - with pork fried rice, chicken wing, and hot & sour soup). The soup was decent, not too spicy. The meal came out in two plates (good portion of lo mein & a large chicken wing) and a small bowl of fried rice. The fried marinated chicken wing was crispy outside and juicy inside. The pork fried rice (dark color) was good too. The pork lo mein (noodles, pork strips, mushrooms, & vegetables) was too much and I had the rest to go and given the check and fortune cookie. Overall, a filling tasty meal at a reasonable price with good quick service.
