I have eaten at Chili Hills 5 or more times and have been disappointed 5 or more times (not many choices in town, so I foolishly go back, always optimistic). Â I recently returned, even thought I vowed NEVER to return, because they have a sign saying "under new management". Â Sadly, it is deceptive, as it is still owned and managed by the same people, they just have a new partner. Â Nothing has changed, still the same below average food. Â I do think the deceptive advertising speaks VOLUMES about their business integrity and attitude towards the customer. Â NEVER AGAIN-and this time I mean it. Â Sigh.
Review Source:This place is disgusting, shouldn't be called Chili Hills, should be considered a HOSPITAL CAFETERIA. These reviews were way off. Please do not get the hamburger, taste like rubber, and mush, just TOO WEIRD. Also the water is horrific, and I am not sure the back of the building looks to pleasant from tourist standpoints. Please avoid and avoid the Pizza place adjacent. Any criticism like this should come with solutions, first solution fire the cook, second solution change the recipes.
Review Source:Really disappointing after reading the yelp reviews. Â It's like they found some magical way to make a chili sauce even blander than their ridiculously bland tacos, burritos, etc. Â More exciting Mexican food can be found frozen in a box. Â Two stars for big portions and sweet servers.
Review Source:They have a cool deal at Chili Hills, for every $5 you spend you get $1 "chili bucks" towards your next meal. They have cheep prices anyways! It's a great local joint. I like their vegetarian omelet for breakfast and they have an amazingly awesome homemade chicken pot pie. Unlimited. Selections of homemade giant slices of pies! Great fresh smoked brisket ect. Oh they have a great waitstaff that is always friendly and keep your drinks full. If your in the area check it out for sure.
Review Source:Nice local restaurant off the major highway. Now the reason for the 5 stars, I had absolutely the best ribs I ever had and I am a rib connoisseur! My wife has queseda and she thought it was excellent for a quesedia. Considering there are almost no other options in this tiny little local restaurant, the food was outstanding.!
Review Source:Chili Hills is owned by Ralph Hill and his wife Susan. Ralph's family has been active in Edgewood, New Mexico since Ralph was a child. His father purchased a small ranch outside of Albuquerque and would take his four kids there on the weekends to ride horses and get out of town. Today Edgewood is a busy place - it even has a Wal-Mart and Walgreens!
Chili Hills is a hometown diner where cowboys gather in the early morning hours for a cup of coffee. The breafkast caters to those with hearty appetites. Huge plates of huevos rancheros are served with fresh red or green chili, cheese, eggs, hashbrowns and pinto beans. Lunch and dinner offer familiar New Mexican cuisine such as enchiladas, tacos, chili rellenos and other great items. In addition, there are weekly dinner specials ranging from fried chicken to salmon. If the chef is feeling creative - there may even be a Greek night or other ethnic meal offered. Homeade pies sit in the refridgerator waiting to be eaten.
The staff at Chili Hills are always nice and welcoming. They call out to regular customers by name and hand out coffee before even being asked. Sometimes on the weekends there is a musician strumming a guitar and singing great old cowboy classics. Last year they added on an outdoor patio. This is a great little place with great food!
