Ugh. Â When you walk in, it's got a new interior design look about it. However, that's about the only good thing here. Well...our service was friendly and genial. Â The only thing that dragged the rating down was the food and cleanliness of the kitchen. Our chips that came out with the salsa were so soggy with grease, it was off-putting...and when you walked by the kitchen to get to the bathroom, the kitchen was a MESS!
The chips and kitchen pretty much ruined my dinner. Service was nice though!
Had lunch at Chili's today and we love the lunch specials. Â Soup and Sandwich or salad and sandwich, Â Soup and Salad. Â The all you can eat soup and salad comes with their great salsa and chips. Â You must try the loaded baked potato soup, it is really delicious. Â Wait staff is friendly and fast.
Review Source:Came in an hour before the kitchen closed but apparently the kitchen crew didn't want to cook anymore cause our food was freezing cold. The buffalo chicken sandwich my brother ordered was cold and rubbery and the tenders plate with corn on the cob that I ordered was so cold that it wasn't edible. When we told the staff and they just cleared our plates and brought us the check and started turning off the lights, TVs, and running the vacuum around us. Will not be returning!!!
Review Source:I had to think about this review a lot. Â I mean, I AM a regular, and I enjoy going there. Â BUT, I could care less about the kitchen. Â The ONLY reason I go to Chili's is the bar. Â I have met three of the bartenders, and they are all very nice to me. Â Other than that, if you choose to eat there, stick with burgers and things that are deep fried. Â Never go with grilled-chicken. Â It will come out rubbery. Â On top of that, if it's supposed to be topped with anything, chances are it will be half-assed micro-waved. Â It's probably the worst Chili's that I have been to, food-wise. Â I don't know what the servers are like since I go there alone and sit at the bar.
Review Source:Wife's salad had more then enough old brown lettuce to give a clear sign that whoever put it together, just didn't care. My margarita chicken was pretty good. We don't like when the entree comes out 5 minutes after the appetizer. Waitress was really nice, just the salad was upsetting.
Review Source:Typical chain resturant. Have not been to Chilli's in over a year or so. We decided the 2 for $20. My salad was missing half the ingredients and about a fourth of the lettuce was brown or rotting. The chicken was very cold on top of the salad. My hubby said his was mediocre. I will probably aviod chilli's for another year or so.
Review Source:First let me say I've had SERIOUS issues with this location in the past & probably hadn't actually sat down for a meal in over a year. Â
When this Chili's first opened years ago a friend of mine worked there. Her boyfriend & I would often sit down for dinner & drinks while waiting for her to finish her shift. As part of the cleanup, she & her fellow servers were required to move everything off the tables, wipe everything down, to include condiments & menus. Â My friend finally left this location and I was deployed for 17 months.
When I returned from deployment I found the old, shall we say "clean," manager had been replaced with some new woman who obviously was looking to score a fat bonus by reducing staff & their cleanup duties. This restaurant was consistently understaffed, filthy & the food undercooked & cold. Â I recall having to complain on several occasions & the manager comping meal items. The menus were always sticky, like the floor of an adult theater; food was stuck to the glasses, utensils & dishware. If the place looked this bad in the front of the house, how did it look in the kitchen? The final straw was having one of the door greeters drop a menu on the floor & hand it to us like nothing happened. Â When we complained she giggled & said it was "nothing to worry about." Â I got so fed up I called Chili's corporate & got a regional manager to contact me several times. Â Despite the regional manager's assurances this place stayed nasty & therefore I stopped going. Â It should be noted a server we dearly loved, turned Expo, quit over the crappy management & lack of cleanliness. Â
Today I had to run errands nearby & recalled this location was recently remodeled, which was needed. There wasn't a power sprayer on Earth strong enough to blast away the years of neglect. Â I was hopeful the cleanliness & food quality had improved and that the staff shortages were resolved. Unfortunately this place still sucks. Â
We arrived close to opening time & by the looks of the floors a proper cleaning wasn't done the night before. The menus were new, but still sticky. Â I knew we were probably in for more issues when the overworked server apologized to the two tables on either side of us for a delay in their food. The first table got an apology from the manager & a comp. Â (Sound familiar?) Â The second table's food still arrived with cheese on it despite two requests from the customer to 86 it & to re-make the order. I remained hopeful about our order, but sure enough, the server appeared 45 minutes into our stay & said he didn't know why our sandwiches hadn't arrived. He then asked us what we'd ordered & wrote our requests down on paper! Â
On the positive side, our chips & salsa, drinks & soups arrived quickly, all at the appropriate temperatures. Â Unfortunately the fries were undercooked. Â The bacon on the Southwestern BLT was cold & chewy. I also didn't like the shredded lettuce on a BLT. Â Who in the Hades does that to a BLT? Â Obviously Chili's does, & that, Peeps, is sacrilege to the poor sandwich. Â
Since I was off work & in the mood to booze, I tried the pomegranate margarita which was quite tasty, but at $8.97, the most expensive item on the bill. Â Definitely not worth the price for the size of glass this beverage arrived in.
All in all, I don't see much improvement at this Chili's. Â For a chain restaurant in a military town with major businesses nearby, this place should've been packed for a lunch service. Instead the pace of customers was anemic at best, yet the staff still couldn't keep up. A new paint job, artwork & shiny utensils doesn't negate the years of bad management this place has seen. This Chili's needs a management enema stat! Â They need to give a damn about cleanliness & put enough staff in place to keep their customers satisfied. Â While you're at it, hire a cook that can actually cook a french fry that doesn't taste like a raw potato. Â
If you want a good meal, with good service, go to Ragazzi's or Texas Roadhouse, depending on your age & budget. Â If you want a good drink at a reasonable price, go to any of Applebee's copious happy hours. Â Avoid this place like the plague considering you could end up with the plague.
Update: 12/30/12 visit: The young lady that was supposed to be working at the Take Out counter was leaning against make counter eating while I was waiting to order. After I finally made my order, I went to the bar to have a drink. Â I waited 5 minutes for the bartender to speak to me because the Manager was talking her ear off about the Christmas gifts she got. The bartender kept giving me a sheepish grin, but quickly made my drink once the manager left. Â
Update: 3/2/13 visit: Â As luck would have it I got the last available gift certificate available from some team award my boss got us...to Chili's of course. Â My Reserve unit was having a get together & about 14 of us showed. Â Our server David was amazing & it was a clean service. Here's hoping!
Lets just say my choosing dinner license has been revoked by my husband. Ha!
We did the dinner for two. You get to choose and appetizer and an entree. For the appetizer we had the tostada chips and fire-grilled corn guacamole. This was tasty. It came with the salsa too, so we didn't complain. For the entree, I chose the Crispy chicken crispers honey- chipotle and the husband got the original. The dish came with corn and fries. The corn was mediocre. The fries HORRIBLE! I'm not sure if they cooked them ahead of time and let them sit, or if they where freezer burned. I didn't have much hope for the chicken crispers. They added way too much sauce so it made the batter soggy and the chicken was semi-warm. What really did it for me was when I took a bite from one of the crispers and it was hard to chew. I was done. The husbands crispers where the original, and they tasted just like KFC chicken strips not sure if its a good or bad thing. But he was not pleased either.
We personally will not be returning to this restaurant. And will not recommend going for food. Perhaps, cocktails might be different story, but I don't wish to try that.
5 STARS - We had EXCELLENT service!
3 STARS for the food. Â I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Â Everything was lukewarm. Â I should have sent it back. Â My own fault. Â The fries were okay, kind of dry for fries. Â The burger didn't have much flavor.
We sat in the bar which for me was chilly. Â Lots of TV screens so no matter where you sit, you'll be able to watch one of the five different sports games being telecast.
I've never had bad service here!
The Texas Cheese Fries are awesome, 1800 calories of awesome for thr full serving.
Normally the blended mudslides are a bit stronger than the one I had last time I was here, still good. I also love their chicken and rice soup....add some tobasco sauce.....mmmmp, yum!
I gave this place two tries before I started warning my friends away from it.
The service was so slow, the restaurant so sloppy, the food so bland and awful, that I actually wish I had to clean my own table, pour my own drinks and prepare my own food. This restaurant is so bad that every time a patron actually pays for their meal here, God kills a puppy.
Think of the puppies.
Mehh... Ive had my fair share of this restaurant back home. Idk what it is about this chilis though. The food sucked! Â It tasted like my food had been sitting under the heat lamp for about 30 min. The service was ok.
The bar on the other hand is pretty nice. You get 3 stars just because the bar. Fair prices all around but I think BWW across the street has better deals on beer.
Good place to eat. The place was loud, but the service (David) made up for that. The Pulled Pork sandwich was good and the Onion rings were GREAT. The beer was good to but about 25% too expensive. But overall this was the best Chili's I have experienced.
The two groups of Valley girl people were way too loud (but it was Saturday night so it was kind of expected)
I worked for Chilis many years back in a different state so I have insider understanding of how this place should be run. Okay my experience was 4 years ago, but still relevant. My wife and I came in 30 minutes before close. We even asked if the kitchen was still open, they replied it was. Â We were very careful to order things that were easy and available out of consideration. Well that consideration was not shared. My $20 fajita was burnt and minus onions, I literally had to scrape the charred beef off the skillet. My companions food was cool, cold chicken tacos. I was angry. I didn't just demand a comp, I wanted my money back. Well they jerked me around for months and I threaten to call the parent company Brinker as I also am a shareholder, finally they comped me and mentioned they were in the middle of a internal management shakeup.
So while Chilis isn't gourmet to begin with, this is not one of the better local and I would avoid.
Horrible service, if there was a no-star option I would give it to them. Â The restaurant itself was not the cleanest I have been in. Â Bottom line here is expect to wait for the small things like appetizers/drinks/entrees that are not even that are mediocre at best in taste. Â Would not recommend this to my fellow Yelpers, and I really hate giving negative reviews.
Review Source:I normally don't like chain restaurants but if you're in Sierra Vista then Chilis definitely becomes a legitimate option. Â The good news is that they don't seem to remember me from 5 years ago when I spent most of the night outside analyzing each blade of grass after several drinks. Â
Tonight's Chilis experience was positive. Â It was extremely popular but there were still a handful of parking spaces with no line at the door around 6pm. Â The jalapeno smokehouse burger had huge thick pieces of bacon and the fries were surprisingly good. Â Nobody claimed to have room for desert. Â My friend wasn't happy with his 7&7 as he said it tasted watered down. Â I had cocacola so I couldn't confirm.
The previous review by "A.C." says it's a family place but I didn't see any kids. Â His ultimate point though was correct that the place gets loud. Â We had a group of 10 people and you really couldn't hear the ones that sat on the opposite side of the table.
