If you are looking for very cheap Chinese food and you don't mind a "homely" kind of atmosphere then try this place. We went as a group of eleven and we ended up very full even with leftovers. We spent only $5 each.
They serve very basic Chinese food. While their Hunan wasn't so good, basic American Chinese dishes like Mongolian, Szechuan, and other beef and chicken dishes were not bad for the price.
On the outside it looks a little shady but give it a chance and you will be surprised.
I love this place and have been here many times. Originally, it had a tiny area and food were picked up or delivered mostly. They did expand to another door to cater for sit-in dining experience.
So now down with their food. I can't complain, I tried almost everything and have not been disappointed although I think they need to re-look at their sweet and sour batter, to me it need to lessen so the chicken can be the center piece not the sauce and batter.
I love, love their sweet donuts but you need to eat them while it's hot. Try their lo-mein special specially shrimp. They put lots of shrimps in their fried rice and almost any order with shrimps in it.
Lastly, the owner is lovely. She's very personable and approachable.
Please give this little Asian restaurant a try and you won't be sorry. Don't expect for a 4 or 5 star atmosphere because this is just a neighborhood Asian restaurant.
Sweet and sour chicken and shrimp lo mein were the shiznit!!!!
I always get mine to go(small dining area), but I'd dine in there if I were alone because it has a family/homely feel to it. Nothing extra fancy about the inside of this place, the food is just pretty good. My wife is VERY picky about her orange chicken and sesame chicken, and she enjoyed theirs. One of the best chinese restaurants in Lake County!!
