Ate here two nights in a row. Food is good, atmosphere is as well. Service was a little lacking, Sat night-slow, ordered drinks didn't come which can be significant if you like wine with your meal. People at table next to us who had the same waiter did not get food that was ordered. So, some improvement is needed. However, the staff overall is friendly, helpful and engaging. Mike was great and helped us with selecting places to see downtown and they credited an appetizer to make up for the trouble which was a nice gesture. Will go there again for sure. Need to improve signage and entrance for out of towners.

We walked in as a couple on Saturday night without a reservation; first time there and I was immediately extremely impressed with the atmosphere! A well-dressed man playing holiday music on a baby grand piano greeted us with a big smile; a roaring free-standing fireplace offered warmth and great visuals both on the bar side and the restaurant side; lighting was intimate and romantic. (I agree it would benefit greatly from bolder signage outside.)

Our waiter was extremely attentive, friendly and helpful, allowing both of us to make alterations to our dinner orders. We ordered the small side salad, which they split for us in the kitchen, and it was such a huge portion even split! I agree it's better when entrees include soup or salad, but when you split the huge side salad ($4.95), adding $2.50 to each entree is certainly no big deal. Bread was warm and plentiful, with an interesting side flavor I couldn't quite place, but was very appealing.

I ordered the Tilapia alla Livornese, a good value at $14.95, and switched the garlic roasted potatoes for what turned out to be a huge portion of pasta--yum! So much food I took exactly half of it home. My date requested Veal Marsala, which wasn't on the menu at all, but Chicken Marsala was, so he figured it was worth a try. The waiter accommodated our changes in a positive way, and came back many times to offer more water and drinks, and to be sure we were content. The Veal Marsala was SO perfectly prepared, with just the right edge of crisp outer crust and seasonings, that we actually requested to compliment the chef, live, personally! The chef arrived at our table and was very pleased with our praise, especially when we stressed he MUST add this to their regular menu! It was really the best Veal Marsala I have ever tasted, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I think anyone negatively reviewing a new restaurant in its budding stage is unfair. With all the multiple background details, it's obvious it takes awhile to get everything shipshape and get into the groove of great service and perfectly prepared food. Chill out! Give them a couple months to get up to snuff, then return again and write a solid review of your experience. Especially when there's a big need for upscale dining in this area, bursting their bubble so early on certainly can't help this to happen, or for new places to come into their own in time for their business to stay and grow.

Our overall experience  was, in a word, perfection. I HIGHLY recommend Fiamico and have been talking it up all weekend to anyone who'll listen. I'm sorry I waited so long to try it, but I positively will return, and regularly!
