China One

I make 'Chinese' food at home from scratch and it's delicious and not terribly expensive (other than the oil for deep frying the meat).  It is, however, a huge mess to clean up (few staging bowls, cast iron wok, etc...) and I don't take the time to make up egg rolls from scratch.  So, what I'm looking for in a Chinese take-out/sit down place is food that is at least as delicious as what I am capable of making and cheap enough to make it worth buying instead of making from scratch.

This place fits the bill.  It looks like a hole in the wall from the street, but has a very tasteful interior with seating (although I've only ever done takeout).  Lunch specials are around $6 each and include fried rice and an egg roll.  Dinner combo plates are closer to $9 and include the same and the full entrees include white rice instead of fried.  Chicken quality is good - tender but without feeling under-fried.  Steak was less than desirable (but this is not uncommon when the price is this low).  Service is very friendly - they will customize the spicyness of your order (my mother-in-law wanted extra spicy Sesame Chicken and it was hotter than what my wife ordered).  Fairly quick service as well.

They also sell Japanese food here, but I've never ordered it.  I don't know if they deliver as I'm insufficiently familiar with their menu (and unwilling to bring one home) to try and order over the phone.  This is streets ahead of Ming Garden in taste AND quality.
