As a visitor from San Francisco, I was slightly worried that I wouldn't find a good coffee place in Grand Island. This place proved me so wrong, and in fact surpassed my wildest dreams.
The espresso drinks are fantastic--the vanilla bean latte is the best I've ever had--and although I have yet to try the food, it looks great. The maple spice latte sounds good, but the vanilla bean is so good, I haven't bothered trying something new. The atmosphere is also amazing, with ultra-modern sleek but comfortable decor and very chill music.
And after dark, the cocktails are unbelievable. I tried the Cherry Punch first, and it was mindblowing, then I had the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, which was subtler but just as good. But then, oh then, I had the Tiramisu--best cocktail of my life!
I have no doubt this place could open a location in SF and thrive. In fact, I wish they would!
The Chocolate Bar is one of the best coffee shop experiences I've had in all of Nebraska! Â Lincoln and Omaha should be jealous! Â They have utmost respect for their highest of quality beans without coming off as coffee snobs. Â I have tried several of the drinks and have been so absolutely happy with them all.
I appreciate the staff and their hard work at making it a wonderful experience for every customer. Â They are helpful with recommendations and keep the menu simple with so many great options. Â They are patient, kind and helpful while delivering their food and drink in outstanding quality.
The atmosphere is a breath of class in downtown Grand Island, making it feel like a real treat to go.
I also appreciate the variety of breakfast and lunch options for early day meals, desserts that make any experience extra special and the drink and apps menu for a fun night out!
The Chocolate Bar is an awesome bar/coffee shop/ meeting place. It is a gorgeous, well designed bar that has nothing to do with sports or fried food! Instead they capture a great cozy, modern feeling. It makes you feel like you are no longer in Grand Island, Nebraska but instead downtown Omaha.
This really is a place like none other in Grand Island. They play great music in the background and have a wonderful selection of deserts that are to die for!
I would suggest this to any and everyone looking for a place to meet up with a friend and relax. LOVE THIS BAR!
Great chill place to come hang out and have a conversation with a great cup of coffee or a mixed drink. Wi-fi is fast and the décor is great. Only weird thing about it, and I think this goes for about every establishment that serves alcohol around here is that people bring their children with them, it's like "come along now kids, daddy needs his happy juice"

We have winner. Â If I could give it six stars I would.
STAR - Holy moley the coffee and desserts were good. Try the cuban.
STAR - Exposed brick and hardwood floors create a open, casual setting.
STAR - Free working wireless.
STAR - Seats with power outlets
STAR - Open until 1am. That's right, 1am.
STAR - Barrista recognized the brand of my shoes and bag. Awesome.
Chocolate bar def strikes at any stereotypes that one may have about Nebraska. It seems be catering to a small, but growing hipster community in Grand Island. I was here on a Saturday evening and it was not all that busy, so I hope there are enough people who like this kind of place AND who will support it.
Great place in downtown GI for lunch, specialty coffees, desserts & evening drinks. Â Wonderful atmosphere...great decor...not your typical GI coffee shop! Â Amos & Sharena are doing a wonderful job with their unique menu items & really good customer service.
Really nice place to go after dinner for a special chocolate, dessert and coffee or specialty martini!

The Chocolate Bar is a great little establishment in downtown GI that is neither deep-fried-food or sports themed. Its atmosphere is inviting, stylish seating, and the cocktails and chocolates are fantastic. The owners are a young couple making a go at this, and are still working out the focus. Right now it's kind of a catch-all: mixed drinks, lunch (no dinner just snacks), desserts, and coffee. I think they'll probably focus the offerings in coming months. Right now I can heartily recommend it for an after-dinner visit on a cold night when you want some more time to chat and warm up with your significant other -- it's not like grand island has an impressive night life scene, you know?
