Lunch/dinner options are pretty wonderful and worthwhile. Nightlife can be just okay. College night on thursday nights can get busy and as under 21's are allowed into the bar (after paying a hefty price) there are a lot of young kids which some drama can happen. Drinks are cheap on college night...but so is the alcohol. If you are okay with that, then you'll have a fun night.
Review Source:I was asked to go to see someone in a local band.  Three bucks to get in.  That must be because they don't expect to sell you anything when you come in. After we came in aft 10pm. We went in check out the band we came to see. We were there for over an hour and never once had one waiter or waitress ever ask us if we'd like to purchase anything.  Businesses kill me in Flint. First rule of sales.  "Ask for the sale." only a few of the locally owned bars in Flint ever pay any attention to their customers.  This is definitely not one of them.  Now, we we're going to plan the evening. So before we left we checked their website to see what schedule was for when the band we were going to see was playing. Nothing on the website except that they had bands playing. No specific times or information to make it appear this place was even concerned about their own business. We wanted to eat before we went to see the band. So the next question we thought we'd be able to answer before going was how late do they serve food. (I've heard they have good food, but I guess I'll never know) since we ended up calling to find out how late food was served. Since the website didn't answer that question. So we ended up going somewhere else to eat and only went there to see the one band. Just another typical Flint Bar.  No management actually running the bar. No wait staff concerned about customers or even wanting to make a tip. but, I did get to see the a band perform for 3 bucks. That's all they made from my party that night. I don't go to a business and beg them to take my money. This place isn't even concerned with making any. just another flint bar probably crying that they aren't making any money when they run their business like they don't want to make any money. What a business plan. Must be taking business advice from JW's  Charge people to get into the business but not be concerned with selling anything once they get in.
Review Source:I had some time to kill on march 12th, so I decided to go into churchill's. I have never ate anything here before...so i thought "today's gonna be the day!" - I ordered a basket of fries, tarter sauce, mountain dew, and a side of coleslaw. Kristin (the waitress) was nice. Churchill's was a dead man's party inside...but that's not their fault. This place has been eclipsed by other places in the downtown area and victim to a falling economy. I didn't like my fries, but I didn't hate them either...and I didn't get much coleslaw. My bill came to $6.84. I'm not gonna complain because i always liked the decor of this restaurant / bar....even if this place is not the "new flavor of pop" anymore. I also liked that I got to sit at a table and reflect on things without being surrounded by too many people. oh..and churchill's has live band's (the local kind) playing  every friday night.. THIS I ALWAYS LIKED!  - so if you can, give churchill's the chance it deserves!
