Pros: good location, good people-watching if you sit at one of the tables outside/on the sidewalk, amazing fresh-baked bread, decent portion size, solid service.
Cons: expect a wait (especially in the summer), and you're paying to be in Newport (meaning the prices here seem somewhat inflated).
Our party was in a bit of a rush, so we told our waiter we wanted to eat and pay the bill fairly quickly. Despite the restaurant being packed and our waiter looking after many tables, he had the food and the bill delivered with haste, which was great.
The Boom Boom Room is worth it for some people watching laughs on Friday and Saturday nights. I think you can definitely guarantee yourself to have a good time here.
As far as the food goes, I'm a fan of this place. The service is attentive, very good waitstaff here. Great place for lunch. It has a nice bright ambiance, and obviously nautical decor-- however it's not ostentatious. Definitely fits the place well. As far as lunch menu selections, it is easy to find something to appeal to whatever you may be in the mood for. Good selection of salads, sandwiches, and burgers. I've tried the gazpacho here, very tasty and good on a hot summer day!
This place is always jammin' so we wanted to see what it was all about. So very busy, so we were afraid of getting horrible service. Not so. We sat at the bar, and were well taken care if. I had the seafood linguini which had an Asian flair. Awesome! Â My boyfriend had penne with chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce which he loved. "Newport Water" drink was very tasty! We didn't stay for dessert because some self-absorbed b!tch took my boyfriends bar stool when he stood up to stretch!! Â Unbelievable! But meal and otherwise was quite nice!
