Hello is there anybody out there?
Wondering why this place is so dead, Â Â Drinks & Food can get expen$ive for what you get here. I've gone here a few times in the past 7 years since it was Walking / stumbling distance to cOcOnuts. Â Filled mostly by vacationers from every place else, on a get away. A great view of the marina for boat watching and to catch a good deal on charters if you happen to find a captain off duty. The food is just OK. Â The decor is Bright tropical. But it is the kind of dive stuck in the 80's a place that doesn't change much. Which isn't a bad thing. There is often more open spots to sit any time you go. And they are rarely full at the bar.

Standard bar-fare...you know wings, hamburgers, fries. Â Drinks are normally priced, considering the location. Â We arrived around 8PM because they are dog-friendly (the ONLY reason they got two stars).
I will say the view was nice, the place was jammed and there was a teenage girl singing that was very talented and engaging.
We had fun - and forgot about the lousy food. Â Service was very good.
Went here with a group
of friend. Was seated and waited for 15 minutes with no waitress or waiter responding to us. When i flagged he was surly an proceeded to lecture us on how busy they were.
After another 10i minutes and no service we left.
Don't waste your time with this place. You're much better of at Hog Heaven or Whale Harbor.
Great location but the service SUCKS.
Save your cash. There are many better places to eat in key largo. I must give a high five to the waitress for letting me know that I should order the coconut shrimp and not the the stuffed artichoke. Thanks! The shrimp were the best thing we had. They were good but $6.95 for 3 shrimp? Â Expensive and passable food make this a last resort. I hope the new owners read these comments and make some changes.
Review Source:I never thought I'd find a waterfront bar in the Keys I didn't like. Alas, I found Coconuts. Love the name, love the location, right in a marina, love the look of the drink menu - full of tropical delights.
But once you taste anything - it loses its luster, quick. We tried a couple appetizers, the conch ceviche, flavorless. The fish dip, supposed to be served with a 'variety of crackers"... it was a few small scoops of a fishy concoction with some saltines in their wrappers.
Drinks, not so hot either, On the weaker side, nothing special. They had happy hour specials that sounded good, but they only applied when sitting at the bar, and we were at a table. In general, the menu was similar to a lot of nearby places, but pricier. It's obvious that they cut corners. Boo.
Could be a really cute place, if they made a little effort.
We stayed at the Ramada Inn right across from this tourist trap, called Coconuts. (The Ramada Inn was really nice..highly recommended) Â We went here cause it was rainning and it was close. Â We went there and the only place to sit was outside. Â We thought no big deal theres a huge canopy above us. Â Unfortunatly, they don't know how to do preventive maintenance, cause the canopy had leaks and hard to find a dry spot. Â They lost a HUGE group of people like 10+ cause of that. Â
So we found an actual dry spot, and looked over the menu. Â When i saw the prices, first thing that came to mind was tourist trap. Â Everything was way overpriced. Â There was not one dish that was under $10. Â I told my dad that we should have went some where else, but he insisted. Â So i orded the Mahi mahi blackened & grilled ($20)and wasnt too bad, but for that same exact weight, size, and style, i could have got it for $5 and taste just as good if not better, at a restaurant back home in SC. Â The veggies were terrible, bland and mushy. Â This place just sucks hands down. Â Another place that I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Â Avoid at all cost!!
This place is supposed to be the 'snazzier' joint on the block (there are two other competing restaurants on the same side of the boardwalk-- all others make you drive or cross a huuuuuge street)
The food is slightly more expensive than the rest of the eateries on the boardwalk, but the quality isn't there.
My friend ordered the ribeye steak and asked for medium rare-- it came out well done-- the meat should've had a good amount of delicious pink in it-- but it was mostly brown
I had a side of potatoes, which turned out to be a buck thirty two cheaper than the menu-- woohoo!-- and the homemade conch chowder. It looked, tasted and smelled just like the conch chowder available at the other local joint-- the galley
The service was average-- Travis was a nice, friendly and easy going guy. He changed my other friend's drink when she tasted it and didn't like it.
The atmosphere is good-- inside is an airconditioned area dominated by a bar and large flat screen tvs
the outside is a deck with tables overlooking the water.
They offer live music and events to help you socialize or get relaxed for all of those weary tourists.
Its really a super tourist joint and the prices reflect it. I dont go here whenever I have a choice.
