Great little place. The huge downside is that you will wait. And wait. And wait. Whether it be for a meal, an espresso, or just to pay for a self-serve coffee. Time is a valuable commodity and this place will suck all of yours just for a drink you can get everywhere.

Owners have changed, I'm not even 100% sure if they still have music at night anymore. But the coffee place is still going, and I love grabbing a coffee and then sitting in the back to get work done.

Decent coffee. Under new owners now so the kitchen is not open which is shame. Was looking forward to one of their breakfast sandwiches today.

As a city girl and coffee connoisseur, this place disappointed.  I went for one of the December lattes of the month, and I honestly could not taste the coffee in it.  The syrup and steamed milk was overpowering in flavor, and it honestly tasted like gingerbread white chocolate milk, not a latte.  The latte also wasn't very hot when I got it and cooled down to lukewarm very quickly.  For the drink quality, I thought it was a little bit pricey (about the same cost as a Starbucks drink).  The atmosphere was cozy and the place was well decorated with comfortable and inviting furniture and a helpful chart of the different drinks and their coffee/milk/syrup/water (etc.) content, however the country music playing was kind of weird...I definitely wasn't expecting it, and although I LOVE country music, I thought it was kind of strange and not the music I'm used to listening to while drinking coffee.  Overall, not an exceptionally great nor an exceptionally terrible experience, but I'd rather drive way out to a Starbucks than revisit this coffee shop.

There was a time when Coffee Cat was the best coffee shop in town because it was the only coffee shop in Easton. Now, it has competition. Rather than rising to the competition and doing better, the coffee drinks at Coffee Cat are weak and ordinary, and the food is fairly poor.

Having patronized Coffee Cat on a semi-regular basis, I have to say this place almost always finds a way to disappoint.

They serve a nothing special, mediocre coffee that, on several occasions, has been served at barely above room temperature. They seem to fill a thermal carafe in the AM and leave it all day. By mid-afternoon, well, you get the picture.

The "baristas" are not the least bit friendly or welcoming. Don't ask for what you want, ask if they have what you want. They are always out of something (half and half, milk, you know - the essentials.) How can you run a Coffee Shop and be out of half and half? There is a Safeway right across the street!

Oh, and and don't buy coffee after 4:30 or so unless you want to drink it while walking - they rudely throw customers out promptly at 5PM. Yes, they literally give you the bum's rush.

What a shame, I wanted to like this place and kept returning long after I should have known better. It's an ideal location for a decent coffee shop. And I like to support small, local businesses...that treat me like a paying customer.

You're better off at McDonalds. Really.

I've never considered myself a coffee connoisseur but coffee cat is a great place to get a cup of Joe any time of day. They make specialty lattes for every season and the baristas are very talented and helpful. The scenery is very nice and its location is perfect for a coffee shop. It has a very cozy feel to it and most of the people who frequent there are very nice.
The music scene in Easton is exploding and this is a good venue for local and traveling artists to showcase their talent. It is a very small venue and they really cram people in there so coming early and getting a good seat is a good idea. The sound is always perfect which is surprising in a place with no acoustic qualities.
The only drawback that I have ever noticed is the limited parking in this area of Easton. The street parking is always full and if you park across the street in the bank parking lot you will get a ticket unless you are a Bank of America customer. There's nothing that Coffee Cat can do to fix this but it is still a pain sometimes.
So overall, great coffee, great environment, good music venue, but you better plan on walking to get there!

I have never been at night, but the coffee here is great during the day and I enjoy the atmosphere. The breakfast is nice for a simple egg sandwich or bagel with cream cheese and lox! The cashiers could be a bit more friendly.

I was visiting and had the occasion to stop in twice. Once for breakfast after a long run, and the other with my daughter after a father-daughter dance. I have seen this place grow over the years and it is reminiscent of the small coffee shops in Minneapolis. Great service, hip staff with Northwest personality (albeit, out of place for this part of Easton*), and the expanding live music line up make this a great place for small plate meals, decent coffee, and local music.

I like the menu. This trip I had an egg and Andouille sausage sandwich. In the past I have had their grilled cheese (tomato and bacon version), panini's, and as usual, I have yet to be disappointed.

*Easton has always had a yuppie upper-middle class feel. (Think boating, Volvo, penny loafers with slacks.) Coffee Cat (music side is called Night Cat) has a grass roots, folk/country feel. Younger staff, facial piercings, tattoos, etc.

This is slightly confusing for someone checking out Night Cat. All the reviews below say "Coffee East", which is what I still call it as well. It used to be Coffee East and changed hands. As far as I know, it's actually called "Coffee Cat" (during the day) and switches to "Night Cat" at night (a little silly, I know).
This place is nice. It's a independent coffee house, which I love to support (although I do love my starbucks). This place has changed alot over the years. They've expanded and renovated multiple times.

When I was home this past weekend visiting family I went to two different shows at this place. Saw KJ with Jer Coons one night, and the Nighthawks another night. The 1st show was $10 and the 2nd was $20. They serve alcohol at night, which is awesome. They actually have some GREAT bottled beers, and at decent prices. Hoegaarden, Dogfish Head (60 minute and Brown), Evolution beers, just to name a few (all were $5-6).  It's a small venue, which lets you get close to the act, and the sound is really quite wonderful for an awkward space. They have table service during the shows, so you don't have to keep getting up to go into the main coffee shop for beer.

During the day, this place is a coffee shop, I like their coffee quite well, and they set it up so you add the milk and sugar yourself (important to me). It's cozy, with couches and a bar area to sit at, and tables and chairs. Free wifi, just ask for the password.

One BIG problem, there's only one bathroom. During the day this isn't so bad. But when you're knocking back beers and need to go, theres almost always a line. On the plus side, you can see the stage from the line, so you're not missing out.

So, whatever the name is, "this place" is pretty cool in my book.

The only thing that brings this place down is the slow service which, I admit, is probably due to their popularity.

The coffee is right on and the food is quite tasty and well priced.

Their breakfast sandwich is the best I've had in a while.  They actually take the time to season the eggs which really makes a difference.  You can also choose from a variety of cheeses to spice things up.

Their lunch sandwiches come with a bag of plain (Utz!) potato chips and a fortune cookie.  While the cookie might seem a tad out of character it is definitely a fun little end to the meal, especially on a boring day.  I highly recommend the hot roast beef sandwich: hot roast beef on your choice of bread with carmelized onions, cheddar cheese and a horseradish mayo that is sure to clear your sinuses.

Sound coffee and drinks, if not a bit slow in the preparation time.  As long as your not late for work or something, this place is great.  I've only ever been on the weekends, when I am visiting the Eastern Shore, so maybe that has something to do with it.  They also, have free WiFi, so checking the email is easy.  All in all, a great and necessary neighborhood addition.

Whenever I visit the Eastern Shore, I always make a plan to visit Coffee East.  In the heart of Easton's downtown historical district, Coffee East is exactly the neighborhood coffee shop I want in my own backyard.

The drinks are always good - though I often wonder why I manage to down a large iced chai latte faster here than anywhere else.  Must be something in the chai...

Coffee East is great for breakfast - the sandwiches and waffles are not to be missed.

I wish they were open later than 6pm on a normal basis - but that's my hometown bias coming out.  Staff is always friendly and the free wifi is a huge bonus!

Coffee East is a great environment with local artwork on the walls with a few couches. Their drinks are okay, do not get the mocha's or any of their fruit drinks. The breakfast is great and they are open early! The lunch is average, I usually go for the BLT. The free Wi-Fi is nice, but not the fastest.

Coffee East has a tempting selection of pastries to offer for the morning visitor to the colonial town of Easton. Be sure to try to the black forest cobbler. The egg nog latte was good but not great, and the peppermint mocha was terrible.
