Good drinks not too expensive,  nice place to hang out with friends during the summer when everything is dead

I have been to this place a handful of times b/c I really enjoy the rooftop bar area.  However, this past Monday I went with a friend and we each ordered a drink from a bartender/server that had no interest in helping us.  He asked if I wanted to open a tab and I said yes and handed him my card.  After TWENTY minutes of waiting we still didn't our simple margaritas that we ordered.  So we went to the bar and informed him that we were going to move on to another bar and we went to the bathroom downstairs then got my card and left.  Two days later I noticed TWO charges on my card from The Corner Bar on Monday!  One was for $1.00 and the other was for $17.00.  They were both "pending" in my online banking until today.  This bartender ran my card for $17.00 then gave himself a tip to make it $22.00.  I went right to my bank and filed a complaint and they said they would refund my money and that since I never signed anything and def. never wrote in a tip that this guy/bar is about to get a nice little letter for fraud on my card.  Point of story - I never got what I ordered (after a 20 minute wait) and the bartender STILL charged my card and then gave himself a tip.   Not to mention this bar is filthy.  Filthy as in gross dirty.  I would not recommend that anyone go to this bar.

Went to The Corner one day for lunch to have a change of scenery from eating on campus. The food wasn't bad and it was decently priced, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. However, don't expect to have a quick meal. I ordered chips and queso as an appetizer since I was super hungry and wouldn't be able to eat again until quite later. It took 10 minutes to get my chips and queso. 10 minutes. That should only take 3 minutes at most. It's as simple as filling up a basket with chips and filling up a cup with queso which is already made. Then, because I had to wait so long, I had eaten all the chips but still had queso left over. The guy told me he would bring me more chips. He then proceeded to go back behind the bar and talk to some fellow employees for a while. I didn't see the chips until my lunch came out, about another 5 minutes later. All in all, it was a good meal, but it should've taken 30 to 45 minutes at most, not the 1 hour and 20 minutes I spent in there. I will eat here again, but only if I have a group of friends with me to keep me from wanting to gnaw on the table.

    Pros:
    *Good, cheap food.
    *Nice atmosphere
    *Close to campus
*Waiter/bartender was really nice and friendly

    Cons:
*The food took way too long to be prepared/brought out.

Roof top bars are rare in BCS, so this one kind of has a monopoly here. Nice drink specials, good place to chill at Northgate. Friendly staff and bartenders.

I used to be a regular at The Corner, but not anymore. The food is not bad by any means, however the service is bad and it keeps getting worse.

Do not expect a 1-hour lunch, even after lunch rush hour. Just go to other places that they have servers and kitchen staff that they know what they're doing, like Fitzwilly's and the Chicken.

Apart from that, it's quite lovely on the rooftop for late at night.

I've been here only to watch soccer games, and the atmosphere inside the place makes it worth while (even though the times that I've been here my team has lost, so I think I'll have to cease my next visits for a little bit). The service is meh(One of the times that I've been here they forgot I ordered), the food is meh, but the atmosphere for me is good. I'm not 21 yet so I haven't been able to try out their alcohol but I heard from my roommate that the specials they have are worth while.
My suggestion for good are the Quesadillas, for me they were the best thing I've had here.

ok this place wasn't around when I was a student, so it was a first time visit for me when my sister took me there. But it looks to me if you've got twenty bucks and a couple hours to kill and you just want to chill with friends over a couple of Shiners and a bite to eat, then it won't get much better than this. Relaxed and casual, the food is ok, the service is also relaxed and casual, but that is just part of the college town charm.

Suckage.  While their website says it has waiter service they do not.   We stopped by Friday night and had to order food from the bartender as there was no waiting service.   When ordering at the bar we I was shouted at by drunk cow truck drivers that the seat was already taken but I didn't need or want a seat at the bar.   The bar tender also appeared to be drunk as well and I had to repeat my order to that fucker three times.

The burger sucked hard core as it was a previously frozen patty.  Fish tacos however were good.  Better than Fuego.

Bar tenders aren't the friendliest.... or the best, but the roof top bar is nice when it isn't overly crowded.

Great ambience up on the roof. The bartenders and staff were all friendly and courteous. I made the rounds of the college bars in College Station, and The Corner was my favorite.

Service: when we walked in, no one greeted us, and we basically seated ourselves. Two 20-something-year-old girls were working...college type, so not exactly super service-oriented. We go upstairs, sit on the rooftop. She gets us water and drinks (water tasted nasty). We order, but the food takes FOREVER to come out. Minus some on that. The waitress also asked one of my friends, when she went up to the bar to ask for something, to bring one of the drinks back to the table. Um, service please?

Food: big portions. You see these chicken strips??? <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/IoeMMqJquDVRrJkhjH6HEA?select=59CtcjteVsWeGni0WQOHPw">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a> They're, like, one and half chickens!!!
Most of us got the fish tacos. <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/IoeMMqJquDVRrJkhjH6HEA?select=CJhLP1_BX5vPi6dMBXXECg">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
Dannggg, they practically give you a whole fish filet in each taco. They are VERY filling. The salsa and chips were good too. The flavor was good and the tilapia was juicy fresh. Definitely not Baja tacos like I'm used to in SoCal, but delicious in their own category.

Drinks: water = nasty. Pineapple juice = not real, some kind of mix. Blah, but at least better than drinking the water.

Price: $5 weekday deals are good price (it's $5 flat, with tax). Even without the daily deal, you get bang for your buck.

So, food was good, but service bad. So, if service was better, I might consider bumping up the rating.

Went twice befor writing a review. I agree the tables are greasy icky feeling for sure. Both times went on Sunday so not too busy.  Nice rooftop patio. $2 any beer is nice except you can't take bottles on the roof top patio so if it's warm out, you get your beer in a little plastic cup which means warm beer quick. Quickly went back down stairs to enjoy some cold beer, The place just doesn't look too clean. I would def come back to drink but go elsewhere to eat. And yep folks do smoke on the patio

Great place to sit on a nice night, good rooftop bar. Catch the food during the day, it's a good deal and pretty tasty to boot

Whether or not you like this place really depends on what you're looking for. If you're going out, this may not be the greatest place. We went to watch a game (World Cup US vs Ghana), and it was the perfect place for that. It was completely crowded with lots of people really getting into the game. The drinks were good. We also ordered the chicken strips. The chicken itself and the honey mustard sauce were fantastic. The fries were a little limp and very salty. The price was pretty reasonable. We spent $20 for a few drinks and our appetizer. I think the biggest downside was that they were way understaffed. Management should have anticipated needing more than 3 people on a game day.

The Corner Bar & Grill is sort of like every other experience I had in College Station: I was neither impressed or dissapointed.  I guess because I was there before summer school started and after the actual semester ended, but nothing seemed to really be alive.

My new group of friends went here two different nights.  The first night was better, as we were sitting on the second-story patio, which provided a nice view of the Texas A&M water tower and University Drive.  On our second visit, we stayed inside to make use of the big screen televisions.  The waitress was very rude to use, but other than that it was a typical bar experience.  I think on the whole, I'd have to say it's probably one of the better nightlife venues to visit in College Station.
