It's A-OK. Â Went to watch the BLACKHAWKS win the Stanley Cup. Â AGAIN!!! Woo-Hoo!
I find it odd that I've never been here before, since I lived in Moorpark in the late 1990s and nearby in Sunset Hills for a couple years. Â Maybe because it's on High Street - away from the main drag, L.A. Ave. Â Who knows.
The Pros: Â It's a cute place on a quaint street. Â Love the brick wall in the bar. Â The steak fries are terrific. Service is friendly. Â Plenty of TVs.
The Cons: Â Filthy. Â From the bathrooms to the menus, this place needs to be SCRUBBED! Â Come on. Â It's a small space. Â Clean it up.
That's about it. Â I'd go here again for beers and bar food. Â Really like that it's dog friendly.
went for breakfast on st patty's day 2013. we had a blast listening to irish music, eating corned beef hash and tilting a pint or two. its a little divey, but that is character more than anything else. the ladies that work there are super nice and treated me and my family very well. Slainte!
Review Source:Ok, ok. I know this place is a bar that serves food, but it is our FAVORITE place to go for a philly cheese steak (sorry, Carli's). Their skinny fries are delicious. You order at the bar and they give you a number and bring your food to you. This isn't Cafe Firenze. Chill out. Now that that's out of the way, I can review it for what it is - a pub.
The drinks are priced well. They have plenty of specials, including Whiskey Wednesday. They make good drinks and have a nice selection on tap. Sometimes they don't have the brands I like but I'm one of those customers that likes Strongboe hard cider and Russian Standard vodka... Not many places serve those anyway. Karaoke is Thursday. There's one pool table which costs 50 cents a game. Line up your quarters on the table. ;)
This is a great place to meet up with friends. I love it for what it is. Friendly, local, and easy on the wallet.
My wife and I moved to Moorpark a little over a year ago and struck gold with this place. It is in an old fashioned, nice and quiet part of town--High Street--and has a great welcome feel. There is a pool table and dart board (must haves for a good bar) and Guiness on tap. Great selection of Irish Whiskeys. Nice patio for outdoor eating. Food is great (more than just basic drunken bar food--menu is actually delicious!). Try the hot wings, some of the best I have ever had. I've also tried the turkey burger and fish & chips--both great. To top it all off, staff are friendly and accommodating. One night even had a round of drinks bought for us by a man who I think was the owner.
Review Source:Stacey & I ate here this week for the first time. Â Do not mistake this for a regular restaurant like Corrigan's Steak House in Thousand Oaks - the two are not related. Â Corrigan's in Moorpark is a bar and grill with a strong emphasis on bar. Â
The basic place is well laid out, with an active bar area and TV, along with a pool room and gated outside seating along scenic High Street. Â There is definitely a strong Irish flavor to the place and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Â We even got to hear a live piper playing, which was awesome! Â Unfortunately their menu had nothing Irish on it. Â
This is a seat yourself place and you order your food at the bar. Â There is no table service for food. Â The fries were about average but the Reuben was excellent! Â The prices are very affordable too. Â My wife had fish & chips with vinegar and they were good. Â I had coffee and yes, it was good.
I only ding them one star because of the tolerated smoking on the patio. Â It's against the law where food & drink is served in Moorpark guys... Â Everything else is pretty good, even without anything truly Irish to eat...
I went here for a friend's birthday get together. Very nice little pub with an Irish flavor. Nice atmosphere complete with a patio and pool table. The draughts are served in glasses that are appropriate for the beer you order. I had Guinness and was pleased with the pour.
The food looked good but I stuck to my Guinness. If I go back, I'll bring my appetite.
My wife and I would be regulars here if we lived in the area.
I had the absolutely BEST Club Salad here that I have ever had! It was huge but, more importantly, it had real ham cut off a cooked ham, in chunks, not deli style ham in little thin slices. The homemade dressing was delicious - ranch I believe and since it was made there I could be absolutely assured it was gluten free. I believe bread usually comes with the salads but since I couldn't eat it, I asked the bartender not to bring it.
Like other reviewers note, it has a very limited menu. It is PUB food - not a restaurant. There's a pool table in the other room and a dart aisle in the bar side. Pricing was comparable to every sit down restaurant in Moorpark but the size and quality was above average. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the limited menu.
A very solid neighborhood pub. Corrigan's has a good Irish breakfast which can be very hard to find and a solid menu overall. They don't have a great variety of beer on tap, but they poor a good pint of Guinness and have a nice Irish whiskey selection. Good service, solid menu, and fair prices. Not a bad location to watch a game either.
Review Source:For dinner and some Guinness a friend and myself headed to Corrigan's in the old town of Moorpark section. The interior is not quite like I remember in Ireland of a pub, but close enough. The night we were there, it was Monday and the football game was on about 4 flat screen TV's while they had complementary hot dogs and chili. We ordered off the bar menu which was pretty good for "bar food" items go. Had the Ruben and was pretty good. Washed it down with a couple of Guinness which was poured perfectly. I would say they have this down, it tasted just right. The only observation was that it was a self serve kind of place and lacked service at the table. You have to walk up to the bar and place your orders. They did bring out the food to the table. I would go back for sure.
Review Source:When my wife and I heard that an Irish pub was opening in Moorpark, we were excited. Â We traveled in Ireland a few years ago and ate in several pubs, where we enjoyed traditional Irish food, such as Irish stew, bacon and cabbage, etc.. Â So, we went to Corrigan's for lunch and found, to our disappointment, that they don't offer ANY Irish food- zilch, zip, nada. Â You might as well go to a burger joint.
Review Source:Went here last Thursday with a couple of friends to get some drinks and dinner. I was hoping for something similar to a Crown and Anchor or Hennessey's, but was disappointed. As mentioned in a previous review, the food menu is pretty limited. My friends ended up ordering burgers and I ordered a corned beef sandwich. They said their burgers were, "Meh," and my sandwich looked like the corned beef came from the service deli at Albertsons. Â Thin sliced and cold on rye...it was definitely something I could have made myself. The place was about half full and only had two servers, one that seemed to have to pull double duty as the bartender.
Review Source:If you are looking for a great place to have a night out Corrigans is it. This is the only place I have ever found with Guinness poorer correctly, and actually tastes like the Guinness in Ireland. The staff is friendly, helpful, and prompt. We had excellent service. The atmosphere makes you feel as though you are in Ireland. Comfortable seating, noise level was perfect, and very clean. We also tried the beer on tap, brewed locally in Moorpark, which was also very good. We did not try any food, but it looked delicious. Defiantly going back soon, excellent local bar.
Review Source:I am giving Corrigan's a 3 based on its potential as a pub NOT a restaurant. First, there were a lot of little flying bugs inside. Now I understand that it is summer time, but that is just gross. It is very dark, and the music was incredibly loud. We were not going to be able to sustain a conversation, and at one point, I was the only person at the table not texting or emailing because they didn't see any point in trying to converse. That was fun times. The menu is not very extensive, and the food was probably a little below average. The garlic cheese bread didn't taste very garlicy or cheesy, and it was cold, thin, and floppy. The dinner salad was incredibly boring, and the ranch tasted funny. My mom didn't like her fish and chips, and my dad thought his meat was "odd" on his sandwich. The Irish Nachos were really just steak fries with cheese and tomatoes on them. My mom tried to order an Irish coffee. They don't serve coffee. She tried to order pinot noir. They only have pinot gris, chardonnay, and merlot. Finally she settled on a margarita (on the rocks because they don't have a blender). She thought it tasted funny. I thought it was extremely watered down. None of us tried the beer. It was fairly busy, which is good, and the servers were nice, but there were only two servers, and it looked like they were also the ones tending bar. Plus, it looked like about 2/3 of the place isn't finished yet. There were some Irish like decorations, but the tables we saw were decorated with Bob Marley and Johnny Cash, which don't exactly scream Ireland. There was a balance of Irish music and more mainstream songs. We enjoyed the Irish songs. I think it is good that Moorpark has a local bar that people can go to for happy hour or on a weekend night, but I think they have a long way to go to become the local hangout and to stay in business - especially located on High St., which doesn't get a lot of foot traffic.
