Indifferent, inattentive service and mediocre food, at best.
Every few years my family gives CB a try while on the road (this time off I-81 en route to Knoxville), and every few years we have an experience such as this, which keeps us away for another 3-4 years. At this rate, the kids will be teenagers and this will all be moot -- then, perhaps, I won't mind paying $2.19 for my kid's cup of milk.
This review was not for the service which was spot on. Â It was because of the kitchen staff. Â One would think that someone would know the difference between country ham and sugar cured ham. Â My order this morning was not typical of what I normally experience at Cracker Barrel across the country. Â My server wanted to get the manager for me but I would not let her.
Sunday, Aug 25, 2013 - I had breakfast here again this morning and one again, the kitchen staff does not either know or follow Cracker Barrel standards when it comes to cooking breakfast items. Â My eggs should have been cooked medium, hard whites and soft centers. Â My bacon should have been cooked medium, chewy and not crisp.
Saturday, Sep 6, 2013 - Once again, I had breakfast here this morning! Â Started off bad again with food not cooked properly; however, the manager stopped by and inquired as to how breakfast was and the next thing, she was taking my plate back to the kitchen and food was prepared again, this time correctly.
When you just want some good home cooking on a road trip, we hit up CB. Â This one was good. Â Food consistent with other CB's. Â Waitress was rank 2 star on her apron but had the skills and personality of a 4 star. Â She was on top of everything. Â A good place to hit up if you are in the mood.
