Crane Alley

I grew up in Urbana, and many times with so many great places to eat in the C-U/Campustown area it can be hard to choose where to go. Something everyone can always agree to is Crane Alley! The food is AMAZING and way better quality than most bars can claim. The sweet potato fries are a must try, and I also love the turkey pita sandwich! Also a great selection of beers and full bar, not to mention a great atmosphere. I love to sit in the alley in the summer! Definitely one of my favorite spots at home!

Great traditional Americana joint.

At any given time the food is amazing, try the Ragout Nachos.  If there was anything that can bring peace to the Middle East, it would be these nachos.

The servers are usually spot on, although they have some part-timers that are more interested in socializing and trying to get laid than getting you another beer.  

But the boys and gals that have been there for a time are some of the best, most amicable, and able servers I've ever seen, and I've been in the industry for 20 years.

Aaron and Kai (sp? sorry, Kai) and Maura (sp? also sorry, Maura) have forgotten more about beer than I could ever know.  If you need some assistance in finding a fine quality beer, their knowledge will help you find a match for your palette.  You can find one of them behind the bar.

Pool tables are quality, sticks could use some updating.  

Lots of hipsters trending between the PBR and the quality craft beers.  But they usually leave quickly, as hipsters cannot handle their alcohol.

The Alley (literally, there's literal seating in the Alley) offers some great ambiance and casual run ins with friends during the summer months.  

Good music, good food, good pool, good beer.

And nachos that represent to bar food what Darwin did for the Theory of the Origin of the Species (admitted hyperbole).

The beer selection was good but it was warm!!
