My wife & I seek out brewpubs as we travel. Â We've probably been to a couple of hundred breweries across the country and this is the first brewery where we liked, would order and would drink ALL of their offerings. Â We, and another couple, ordered their beer tasting sampler and we were delighted and amazed by the flavors, texture (yes) and depth of the brew process. Â
The food was nothing special but was palatable. Â But the beer, oh my!!!!
I am only giving this place four stars because it is a fun place to go to during the summer because they have live music and awesome beers. If I were rating this place on their food a lone I would give it 3 stars but I love a place to go to for some entertainment so I give them the benefit of the doubt. My first experience of this place was pretty bad. They were out of almost everything that we wanted and we settled for nachos. The cheese was grainy and there was nothing special about them at all. The cheese kind of turned us off. I did get a flight of beers for $10 and I was REALLY happy with the choices of beer.
I'm not sure why but we gave them another try a few months later and I am glad we did. They did have everything on their menu and I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich and it was really good. I would either take this place or leave it but like I said before it is fun to go during the summer evenings, on their beautiful outdoor patio. I believe their live entertainment is on Thursday and Friday nights, I am not sure about Saturday nights. The staff is usually very friendly, you might get a bad waitress now and again but what place is perfect?
This is a nice place to go with friends, especially in Summer when the outdoor seating is available, to talk, drink beer, etc. - a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The food, regrettably, is uniformly greasy. It seems everything is fried. Maybe that type of dense, heavy food goes well with the strong, craft beer (?) but it isn't very appealing for me.
A couple of years ago we were at the Creamery and one of my friends, a vegetarian, was complaining that they had nothing at all for vegetarians. I guess her voice carries because the owner came out and asked her, "What do you people like to eat?" He was being sincere - I believe he truly didn't know, and wanted to make his restaurant a better place for his customers. She made some suggestions and ever since there have been some vegetarian entrees (two different veggie burgers, for example.
Last night I had the hummus appetizer (which is definitely more than enough for a meal) and felt it was very "heavy" and had too much olive oil. It was served with pita chips that were, unfortunately, deep fried. We were using the upstairs section for a meeting and we also ordered a sampler platter for everybody to share and, again, everything was deep fried. I really enjoy going to the Creamery but the food is a bit dense.
How did I end up in Klamath Falls you ask? It's a really long story - a really long and funny story - that I'll share with you another time. The point is that I was here. It was 6pm and some locals said, "everything closes at 5pm, good luck!" It's a small, blue-collar town with a lot of gnats and mosquitos buzzing around.
My friend and I were driving around when we saw a big bright sign beyond some buildings that read 'Creamery.' I love ice cream! So, we ventured towards the sign, parked the car, and had to run into the building, so as not to get eaten by the bugs, to find a full-service restaurant and brewery! No ice cream though... They told the tale of it being a creamery once and when they bought the space, they decided to keep the name. I was a little disappointed, but beer always makes me happy. I had a few and they were pretty good. The bartender gave me a stout on the house and I liked it, the hef was yummy, too.
We shared the fish n chips and that was pretty gross. So, just drink the beer.
The beer is delicious which is what counts in a small town. Â Stick with the burger menu and you will be happy. Â I would not order the steak sandwich again. Â IPA is lovely, and my buddy liked the hef, although we both didn't care that much for the red (a little flat for me). Â Nice people in the joint... we went twice in 3 days and everyone we talked to was cool.
Review Source:This is only based on one visit but I won't be back anytime soon. Â Had the Spinach Cob Salad with grilled shrimp and it was the size of a side salad at 4x the cost (and that's before adding cost of the shrimp). Â And the salad was hardly worthy of the "Cobb" label as it was all spinach and very little else.
Review Source:So the beer is A+ and so are the regular pub fare, like french fries and chicken fingers. However, their over-priced entrees have never failed to disappoint us. Stick to the burgers and you'll be happy; however, order the Blackened Shrimp Risotto and be prepared for shrimp sprinkled lightly with blackened seasoning after cooking over a bed of rice boiled in chicken stock. There was no creaminess at all. Also the "Wild Mushrooms" were rubbery and clearly of the rehydrated dried variety. NOT worth the hefty entree price tag. On a previous occasion we had the brisket. It was like a frisbee. Tough and flavorless. Their food prep people are cooks, not chefs. They should stick to their pub fare.
That aside, the beers are wonderful and we often take home a growler of a favorite IPA. Their patio seating is perfect on a warm day. Also, it's great to have a business like this in K-Falls!
Their food is perfectly fine....mostly average pub fare. When they go out on a limb with a menu item, it tends to be not so great. Burgers are great, fish & chips is great. Their all year, stander beers are just average. Not bad, just a little too typical. Some of their limited releases and seasonal brews have been excellent, though. I just wish they were daring with their regular brews.
Review Source:Great selection of brews. Great service too. They have vegetarian options on the menu and offer vegetarian alternatives to their other menu items. A little pricey but they provide quality food to compensate. In general great place to come for a drink or with your family for some really great food. And beer.
Review Source:My other half and I stayed in Klamath Falls one night on a road trip and being beer lovers, we decided to give the brewery a try.
The environment was nice. Big and open with the actual brewery visbile through a big glass wall, the place had a nice feel. There's a fireplace and big wooden bar so it's kind of lodge-like, but there are also a number of tv's including one huge flat screen, so it'd be a good place to catch a game.
Really great, attentive staff here. We even got to meet the brew master who was super friendly! Having seen some of the other establishments in town, this one by far had the best people!
Our food was great...I had a cobb salad and my guy had the broccoli-chicken penne. We were impressed with the sampler. It was a nice variety of tasty beers, each was labeled on the tray it came out in. Plus, the size of each sample was awesome. Definitley, the biggest beer 'samples' I had ever had. This was great since we were sharing the sampler between two of us.
Over all, our visit to the brewery was great! Great people, great food and great beer. Definitely more than I expected in Klamath Falls! Next time we're in town, we'll for sure stop in.
Solid service, first an foremost. We sat at the bar, Donald was the bartender. Happy hour specials were great, and Donald did a great job of letting us try the beer before we ordered since we were from out of town.
Food was decent. Perhaps not the best we ever had, but great food at a brew pub is quite rare from our experience. I have to give them some points for even attempting to make their own veggie burger patty. Â It didn't hold together great, but the flavor was ok. Â
Beers were excellent and the French fries were very crispy and a nice treat.
Very happy with our meal and experience and would absolutely come back if ever in the area again. Â Be sure to check out their happy hour specials! Sunday pitchers are a great price, and the big screen tv would make this perfect for a game.
Although it is really hard to dis Heineken, I strongly prefer local brews. The Creamery did a fabulous job introducing me to what magic could be created in Klamath Falls. I would give one more star, except that my mediocre dinner entree from their late night menu (c. 7:30p) at $11 was $5 overpriced. Still, the restaurant was vacant and I hope they make it.
Review Source:Came through on a road trip.
Walked out of another Klammath falls restaurant and found ourselves here.
Seated on the outside patio on a killer warm summer evening.
Speedy service. Â Solid food. Â I had the ribs and the portion and tastiness did not dissapoint. Â The beer was above average for a brew pub. Â Sides of mac and cheese were promptly destroyed.
Nice little find on our trip, will be back if I ever pass through again.
Great food. I had the spinach Cobb and wifey had the steak salad. Both very fresh served in a nice portion and great flavor.
The service and atmosphere need some work. The owners kids were running around and the service was dismissive. The only people getting quality service were family members.  It also appears the work load is the waitress and the cook work and everyone else stands around and talks.
The food was great 5 stars everything else 1 star =3 stars.
The hogsback hefeweizen served with orange slice perfect!
First off, there is minimal parking--the lot is very small, only allowing about a half dozen cars, and the rest is on-street. I've had to park several blocks away more than once (not like I'll ever be back).
Our order was wrong--they forgot to include the avocado (not the first time this has happened). Luckily, unlike the other times it happened, the waitress was cooperative, and actually brought the missing item.
I had ordered drinks for my group before everyone got there. We had children, and I forgot to mention that the sodas I had ordered were for kids. (They have a price difference for children's sodas and adult sodas.) After getting the check, we noted this to our waitress--she was dismissive about this, and did not correct the error on the check.
The food was OK, but not worth the price, and the beer was decent, but there's other brewpubs in town with much better offerings.
I'll be spending my hard-earned cash elsewhere in the future.
I love beer, however, I find this place very... lackluster. Â
I didn't have high expectations coming here, so I wasn't disappointed to say the least. Â
I came here with a friend one gray, summer day to order a pint. Â I chose a seasonal, Vanilla (Bean?) Porter, just based on the server's opinion. Â It was an okay porter, but nothing about it--even the smell or aftertaste--hinted of vanilla. Â Boring!
After my friend and I finished our pints, we decided to order the sampler, which provides a small taste of all their beers. Â If you're not sure what to order, order this first. Â I honestly wasn't wowed by any of their beers, but I definitely did get tipsy after a pint and half a sampler. Â Nothing, however, was memorable enough to write on.
I still give only 3 stars for regular dining experiences. Â (See my previous review.) Â The Creamery did an excellent job helping me put together my husband's birthday party, however, and the catered food was very good and attractively presented. Â Because my husband LOVES the beer, I reserved the loft upstairs (which gets pretty warm in the summer, btw) and ordered off the catering menu.
A few notes on the catering menu.... Â The serving size estimates are large. Â I was worried I wouldn't have enough food, and we ended up taking MANY containers home. Â The fruit platter was excellent, meatballs stayed hot in the chafing dish, hummus was a hit, veggies were crisp and nice. Â
It was hard getting a hold of someone to book my event, but once I was put in touch with Travis, he was quick to respond to my emails and was very helpful. Â He helped everything turn out well. Â The service once our party was rolling was ok. Â Many times drink pitchers needed to be refilled, but no one was around to take them. Â I guess they didn't want to interfere with our group, but still....
I was able to bring my own cake and desserts without issue (but I have a licensed home kitchen that they were aware of).
I would book another event here again, for sure. Â For dinner with the family, however, it's a little pricey for what you get and service is spotty. Â Stick with their beer and enjoy a social hour with your friends by the bar.
(Oh, and they now bottle a few of their brews. Â You can buy the bottles at Portland St Market or Sherm's Thunderbird.)
The Creamery Brew Pub had a great outdoor seating, we were there on a Saturday, and the band was doing their sound check so that was fun. Â The food was good, the staff friendly, and very attentive. Â I had the bread bowl clam chowder/salad combo and my husband had the burger special named after the band (can't remember their name) it had 1pound (2 patties) of meat with candied bacon, jack pepper cheese, and all the fixings...really good but we had to take one of the patties home along with the bread and had it the next day, yummy. Â Overall, it was a cool place and had good food. Â :)
Review Source:We were just passing through Klamath and needed to find a place for dinner. After checking out on-line reivews, we decided to give Klamath Basin Brewing/The Creamery Brew Pub a try.
Nice line-up of microbrews. The vanilla porter and butt-crack brown were great. The beer-battered fish & chips and grilled halibut with mango salsa were also delicious, as was the clam chowder.
The tables are made of huge timber beams. The building was originally build to house the Crater Lake Creamery in 1935, and still retains its original character - cool open-beam roof, etc.
This place was really a great find. If you are travelling through Klamath, it's definitely worth a stop!
Stopped here while on a road trip around the area coming back from Crater Lake. Â We found it on Yelp. Â I can't speak to the beer as we did not try it. Â The place is a typical sports bar atmosphere with open space and simple furniture with many TV screens. Â The service was very poor as the girl who was bar-tending was also serving the tables. Â We had burgers and fries and they were not out of the ordinary. Â The big distractions were all the flies...they were everywhere on everything. Â If you are checking out brew pubs, give it a look. Â But don't stop for the food.
Review Source:The Creamery has GREAT burgers, friendly staff, and an outdoor patio (this is rare in Klamath Falls). The brews are excellent--I especially like the Crystal Springs IPA. Their sampler is great and relatively cheap, but don't plan on being able to drive after it even if you're a heavyweight: It's a lot of beer. Oh, and did I mention the hummus? Very good. And this comes from a guy with extensive hummus experience in the U.S., Mediterranean, and the Middle East.
On an unfortunate side-note, I would steer clear of the "Butt-Crack Brown" ale. Each time I get the sampler, Â I take a sip of the brown ale and think, "Ah, yes! An appropriate name!" Otherwise, the Creamery is spectacular.
The food here was okay, but was not worth what we paid for it.
My girlfriend and I went here during an off-hour, in-between lunch and dinner, so the place (which, by the way, is freakin' huge!) was practically deserted.
The burger was acceptable, but pricey, and the beer was decent. Â The ice cream we got for dessert was the highlight of the meal. Â We were sat in an odd little nook past the bathrooms so our server couldn't see us, meaning that we were pretty much left alone most of the time, even when we wanted service. Â If the place had had other customers in the area it wouldn't have been a problem, but it kind of felt like they had forgotten about us for a while.
I'd probably not choose to go back again, but if others in my party really wanted to go, I wouldn't refuse.
The ribs were amazingly, crazy good. I ate my face off. The portion is really big and the ribs were meaty, juicy, tender and deeelish. I also ordered a green salad as an appetizer that was completely not worth it. Just some leaves and maybe 4 super thinly sliced carrots. But the ribs! Go try 'em!
Review Source:Good spot to grab a beer on a sunny day in Klamath Falls, the outdoor seating area is really big and you'll even end up with outdoor seats that allow you to rock back and forth. On the Fourth of July there was a band playing and they started out with Journey, Don't Stop Believin!
The food is your typical pub grub and hit the spot since I was staving after a long day of driving. The beer selection is pretty substantial and I really enjoyed the Crater Lake Golden Ale.
I'd like to see more vegetables on the menu but other than that I really enjoyed seating outside at the Creamery. The inside seemed a little dark but I'll let someone else rate the inside experience.
