The Creekside is a White County/Cleveland landmark. It has always been my favorite place to eat here and never has bad people or bad food. First opened in 1986, I've been eating there since the second day of business. Even though the J/J Burger Tour has yet to rate this place, every other thing here is right on the money. I've always gotten one of their subs. My current favorites being roast beef and the Italian combo. A friend of mine rates their reuben among the best he's had. I always recommend this place to anyone passing thru my hometown. That means you.
Review Source:What a great little find. On the way back from Helen and the car load was hungry! I did a little Yelping while driving. Please do not Yelp and drive. and found very few reviews in this neck of the Georgia woods!
With this we took a chance and pulled into Creekside Deli. Folks! it was 2pm in the afternoon and this place was packed, not with Atlanta folks, not with Florida refugees, but locals.
Menu is above your head at the counter, you order at the counter then sit down at one of the tables, either inside or outside. The staff will bring your food when it is ready.
Our orders were diverse. I had a Corn Beef Sub, wife had the Egg Salad sandwich, our friends had the Grilled Reuben and the other had the Grilled Chicken Salad. Our range was Coke Zero's in the bottle and Sweet Tea, homemade. Everything was great! My buddy was raving about his Reuben from beginning to end. The fries and onion rings were all done right, not limp, not burnt, and not in dirty oil.
The staff here is good too. Had a sweetheart at the counter, maybe one of the owners I gather. She was top notch.
When passing through Cleveland this is now a stop of mine!
Enjoy!
I've eaten here 9 times now and have tried several other dishes - mostly all good still. Burgers are good; tuna melt is good; the sub sandwiches always seem to be excellent. I had some sort of chocolate cream pie and there were slivers of ice in it. Stick with the cookies, they always seem good. Twice now I've had my onion rings come out barely warm (and they're deep fried!).
The service here I have discovered is hit or miss. You can tell who the management is because they are super friendly and helpful. But then they put these high school age kids at the register that just don't care and they aren't very friendly, get orders wrong, and overall just don't want to be there. In this economy I'm sure they can do better.
