The spacious Cricket Club is a great addition to Battle Creek's lackluster selection of bars and entertainment. Â Indeed, the selection of beer must come from an experienced pallet, as their selection includes many of my own favorites from around the country and beyond. Â The price is reasonable and the door staff is friendly. Â There's nothing particularly extraordinary about the bar and wait staff, and still there's nothing to complain about either. Â Plenty of parking behind the building allows for a good number of patrons. Â The dart boards make for good, wholesome fun. Â The bar tacos are a great compliment too.
Review Source:great bar downtown with a huge selection of draft beers, liquor, and wine. Â Not sure if what every Wednesday night, but a bottle of wine was half off! Â Score! Â Good appetizers food (warm chips and salsa rock!). Â Friendly staff and usually a pretty decent crown on weekends. Â They are closed on Monday.
Review Source:I'm not from Battle Creek, but my parents live there. Â Given that my daughter is also in Michigan, I am in BC quite often. Â This is a World Class bar!!! Â My only fear is that when ANYTHING top shelf moves into Downtown BC, the locals don't support it with the vigor that they should. Â Here is why you will like the Cricket Club (three reasons, but there are many more).
1. Â Selection - I am not certain of exact numbers, but at least 50 beers on tap. Â And whoever is choosing knows their beers! Â Shorts, Bells, Founders and many more great locals on tap. Â I hate when I go to bars (Griffin nearby is an example) and they've got many beers on tap - all boring and second rate (think Stella, Sam Adams, etc.). Â Not here. Â To top it off, they've got great, great liquor selection on the bar as well. Â I lived in Chicago for three years - and never once found a bar with this level of sophisticated selection.
2. Â Price - My wife and I ordered a couple pints of Shorts beer in the afternoon. Â Shorts is usually about the most expensive beer we can order - but well worth it. Â The bartender "$5 please". Â My reply, "Each?" (assuming even that was cheap). Â His reply "Total". Â How a place this upscale and nice can charge not just fair, but GREAT prices for their products is a mystery to me.
3. Â Service - We always feel whenever we visit that we've got a personal bartender, a smiling person, and almost like a new friend that is serving us. Â You never wait for your next drink, you always get attention - and there is no pretension whatsoever in their service.
My only complaint is that they don't have a Cricket Club in Dallas! Â Great place.
