Excellent service but I can cook better country style food than this...all is bland except for hamburger steak which was so salty you couldn't take more than 5 bites. Service I expect was good because restuarant was empty pretty much...disappointed

I love this restaurant. I've eaten here at least 7-8 times since it opened recently and I've always been pleased. This definitely was a very gaudy Italian restaurant before, so it had to be a task to transform it into a southern restaurant. They did a pretty decent job, though, and I'm sure they'll remodel a little at a time.

Service has been pretty good most times I've been there. Only once did it take us a few minutes to have our initial drink orders taken and brought to us. The prices are very reasonable and the wait staff has always been extremely friendly.

The food, though, is what stands out. I've had quite a few different things here (and have tried food that others have ordered) but I will say that the chicken friend steak, pot roast, fried chicken, and grilled pork chops are all delicious. When it comes to sides get the mashed potatoes with gravy and the dressing with roast beef gravy on it. Fantastic!

My wife and I don't eat out as much as we used to, but unless we're specifically heading for sushi or Chinese food, this is where we typically end up.

This is where Gondola Italian used to be in a strip mall off of 74. This is the third restaurant in this location in as many years. It seems like the site is doomed, cursed and/or haunted. Hopefully this one will stick and I think it will based on my experience.
The decor -ehh - they did the best they could remodeling - at least they opened it up and it feels way more spacious. Marie waited on me. She was very helpful at recommending what to eat and was very friendly. The menu is fairly simple - pick your meat and three sides plus biscuit or corn bread. I had the pot roast (very tender but I would have liked some of the potatoes, carrots and onions that it was cooked with). I picked mac and cheese, fried green tomatoes and collard greens for my sides. The mac and cheese was awesome - nice and crusty and warm. The greens were decent but the fried green tomatoes were a bit thin which left them more cornmeal coating than tomato (also room temp/cold). The biscuit was nothing to write home about. The sweet tea was pretty darn good - not so sweet it instantly decays your teeth - it was just right. Give it a try - solid place - just need to figure out which sides you like best. Will be back to try the pork chops with some sweet potato casserole.
