Weird place, but damn good country food. The place is nothing to look at, unless the random assortment of dead president portraits on the wall interests you, but the food makes it worth the stop. Very reasonable prices, an endless cup of coffee and breakfast that doesn't taste like it came from a restaurant. I'd come back.
Review Source:Crossroads is a rather non-descript place that serves good home cooking in an unpretentious country setting. Â It is a favorite of the after-church crowd in Gretna on Sundays for a buffet "dinner". Â At other times they specialize in sandwiches and a few dinner plates. Â
The Sunday buffet included some roast turkey and gravy/stuffing that was among the finest I've ever tasted. Â There was also beef and red beans with a number of sides. Â The fried chicken was very good.
Prices are quite moderate for the quality and there's a salad bar with a number of choices.
The service is efficient and the owner has the habit of going around to the tables to ask, as any good host should, whether everything was OK and giving greetings by name to the regulars.
If you're in the vicinity, drop in.
