Sooo, this place is actually called "The Loft" now. I don't know how to change the name of a place... anyhow, its alright late night, gets pretty busy late. Drink prices are reasonable & sometimes they have live music. They remodeled and put windows all around the outside, so Its a bit nicer than it was when it had hardly any windows (if any). Its weird though because the floor is super sticky. Inside is huge with lots of pool tables as well.
Review Source:I went to Crosstown over lunch, so that's the primary focus of my review. I have no take on the bar scene at night. With that said, here we go...
On a whim, I decided to try out Crosstown for lunch with a couple friends and I must say, I came away impressed with the food. Crosstown is primarily a bar with a large number of pool tables in it. I believe it used to be called Lucky's Green Room, but they've moved on from that.
I ordered a Cuban sandwich, which is a bit exotic for this area (sad to say), and it was excellent. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the cheese and pickle melded together excellently. The portion was just the right size for lunch. It came with a choice of fries or chips, and I opted for the fries. They weren't particularly good, as you can tell they were mass-produced, but that's only a small gripe. I came here for the sandwich, not the fries.
It was relatively quiet for lunch, which can be a positive or negative. There were only a few other people there, some situated at the bar and others at a table farther away. The smell of smoke also lingered in the air, so if you're not okay with the smell of stale cigarettes, I'd stay away.
Overall, I'd have to say that Crosstown Lounge is a very good place to go for lunch. The portion was large enough, the price wasn't too bad (I paid $8 and some change for sandwich and soda) and the menu is varied enough to find something tasty. Judging by the quality of the Cuban, I'd venture to guess that most of their offerings are quite good.
The only negatives are the smell of stale smoke and the service. Our waiter wasn't as attentive as I'd like, as none of us were offered refills. But other than these small complaints, I'd hardily recommend.
