If you are the owner of a establishment, and you are trying to make a better name for yourself and better your review base, making people spend a minimum of 10 dollars to run a credit card isn't going to help.

Tried to buy two drinks for my wife and I, and wasn't sure if we were going to be hanging out there long, so I ordered two drinks (8 bucks) and tried to run my card.  One guy was cool, then this other bartender came from the wings and screamed at him "TEN DOLLAR MINIMUM ONLY".

I let them keep the drinks they already poured and carried on to another bar, without these stupid rules.

This place is hit or miss. This time we were traveling with a 20 year old son. Went in and they said they wouldn't serve him because he was underage. We went outside to drink on the patio. Came back and said they had called the owner and because it was slow and he was with family, they would serve. (Which is within TX law). Then cut us off about an hour later because we were drinking too much. We come here quite often when visiting friends but you just never know about this place. Service varies.

For a daytime bar, this place is great. Food, drinks (beer and Bare Foot Wines only), live music, photo booth ... you'll have fun. It's an older crowd - 30+, which is always nice.

Night time brings in the same business, but the 30+ crowd is a lot more rowdy. Don't think they liked my NY Yankees ballcap, and I heard a woman use the N word. We left after that.

Slow horrible service, burnt chips and laser lights in my eyes.

Haaaaaaaah, this place is so great! If you have the right attitude, that is. My boyfriend and I popped into here to grab a quick drink and refresh after walking around the Strand a bit. I was a little nervous when we first walked in (mostly because of all the motorcycles out front), but there was a live band playing and the drinks were cheap. It seems like just a really chill dive bar (a little out of place on the Strand maybe) for locals... or semi-locals, anyway. We drank a few beers, played a game of pool, and just relaxed. I did notice that the age range veered a bit more towards 40 than 20, but I tend to prefer that... I don't need drunk 22 year old girls "woo-woo!"ing on bar counters to have a good time.

It's nothing fancy, but you can definitely have a good time here.

    "Slightly older crowd"?

    Try your grandparents.

Here's the bottom line: terrible food, more terrible environment.

    AVOID.

I'm sure the drinks are fine and the crowd is fun..however, as my group and I were entering Crow's, a patron leaving Crow's suggested the nachos, exclaiming how good they were, so I took a chance on them. I was never sorrier....it was a pile of chips with canned cheese on them.  I ordered the chicken nachos and the chicken was so minced, it looked like fish food atop the pile of mess in front of me.  It looks like it could be a fun place, conveniently located for us as we were catching a cruise early that day, but I would go strictly for drinks, never again to order a meal. I think the person suggesting nachos to me on her way out must have been joking.   I'm giving Crow's a two star instead of one, because it looks as though it could be a LOT of fun for the partiers.

A good bar for the slightly older crowd, who shy away from the rowdy throngs at Yaga's. Laid-back yet fun loving and attentive staff, with salty regulars who just want to have a good time. No hard alcohol but they let you have a setup. Perfect for sitting on the strand after a day at the beach and watching the people go by. With killer bands!

A place where you can just relax with a cold beer and enjoy the music and friends

My friends have been Yelping for a good couple of months and I've always wanted to Yelp but never signed up - especially if I get those cool buttons!!  Crow's Cantina made me sign up.  I took a day trip to Galveston with some friends to just relax; Crow's almost ruined that.

First, we walk in and the girl behind the bar says, "We have beer and wine based drinks."  I should have known right then to leave.

I ordered the cheeseburger and ask if I should get the french fries or onion rings.  The girl taking my order says she doesn't like onion rings so I say, "Give me the french fries!"  I even see he write down "FF" on the order.  I also ordered a "pina colada" at this time, I saw her write that one down too.  Time goes by and no drink so I just figure she assumed I wanted it with my meal - so I am content to wait.

I get my meal.  The first thing I notice is the onion rings.  I have no idea how she got that one wrong.  I asked her which one she suggested and she says french fries, she writes down french fries, but I get onion rings?  I kept them because I figured they'd be ok.  Boy was I wrong.  They were pretty nasty.  Obviously from a frozen package.

The next thing I notice is the burger which is already cut in half with unmelted cheese (eww!).  The burger was  possibly the grossest burger I have ever seen.  It didn't even look like it was made with ground beef.  I was drunk and hungry so I ate it.  My friend (who will eat anything) commented how gross my burger looked and how he wouldn't eat it.

So after a few bites I am thirsty, and notice I still don't have my pina colada.  I ask for that and get it.  She didn't have to make it, just pour it from a frozen machine but it still took 15 minutes from ordering the drink to getting it in my hand.  Horrible!

Ok, time to leave.  MY 3 friends and I ask to close out.  We get one check and I ask for it to be split.  The girl replies, "You should have told me that before.  I already rung it up and there is nothing I can do about it."  My friend says, "That doesn't sound true." And the girl behind the counter just ignores him.  I end up paying the whole thing and now have to get cash from my friends.

Overall.... this place was horrible.  Service = 0 and food = -1. The atmosphere was ok.  So if I wanted to come and sit without eating or drinking I might give it a 1.5.  It's just a shame my first review is a one-star review.  Avoid this place at ALL costs!

Some of the best live music in the area.

We went on Wednesday night and heard some great music, great company.

The cheeseburgers are amazing, as are the philly steaks... the only really authentic in the area.

I highly recommend both with a cold bottle of Shiner Bock.

This is a great place for local flavor and good conversation.
