Everything about this place was weird - staff, food, vibe....  "out of tomatoes" in an Italian restaurant says it best.

I had cocktail at Crush on a Tuesday and based on the bite of steak I had and the fantastic shrimp cocktail I decided to take my work team there for dinner. We had a party of 9 and of the 9, 4 of the steaks were done wrong. I ordered the grass fed New York black and blue. It came back medium. I sent it back as did 3 of my team members. Based on the number of mistakes the manager came over as did the chef/owner and apologized profusely. They comped our tip ($78) and desserts and gave 2 of the team members that lived here $25 gift cards and comped a bottle of wine as well. Based on the food mistakes and our server alone I would give this place a 2 but the fact that they did so much to make up for their mistakes, and our awesome busperson, the lovely Kelly, I gave this place a 3 out of 5.

This place is located right next to the Hampton Inn which I stayed in for my business trip. The path through the courtyard from Hampton to front door of restaurant is a nice convenience. I had dinner with some coworkers and we were greeted and seated promptly. The waitress was friendly and brought water to the table, weird thing though, no ice in the water! I ordered the NY strip and the salad bar. The salad bar is a very nice little addition, many great high quality choices to top my greens, I was very impressed. We were served complementary freshly backed focaccia bread with balsamic and oil dip, bread was tasty. My NY steak came out and was on a white plate topped with a compound butter, roasted garlic, and sprig of thyme with a side of mashed potatoes. NY was mildly flavorful, nothing to write home about, potatoes were flavorless though. I never salt my own food typically and I found I had to with the potatoes. The NY was surprisingly tough and chewy which I didn't expect from the $24 price for the steak. I shared the toffee tartlet desert with a coworker, BEST part of the meal besides the salad bar! The tart was filled with a great toffee filling and served with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Overall the food was ok that I had, my coworkers were impressed with their entrees and happy. I would of liked a better and more rendered or at least aged cut from this "steakhouse".

The food is decent but reminds me of olive garden. The food was slow to come out which I understand, It takes time to cook this type of food.  However the service was so slow just like the one in Chico, waiters and waitresses forget requests and don't return enough.  This not authentic Italian by any means.   Price is slightly too much for olive garden quality.  For more authentic Italian in Ukiah area head out to Mario's Ristorante Italiano, you wont regret it.

This review is for the sports bar/pub, where I ate and drank the night of June 15, 2013. Based on my experience, I would surely come back, and hope to have the same staff and companions again.
Entertainment in the bar area on this Saturday night was several sports on a number of nice TV's. I like to be able to keep upon more than one event ...
Pub offered a choice of about a dozen draft beers, some bottles, and nice list of wines by the bottle and glass, including some locals I would not find at home in L.A. I had heard about Caesar Toxqui's Mendocino zinfandel, had not been to his tasting room, but tried a glass of that.
It went nicely with my wood-fired oven Luca pizza, pesto and artichoke hearts with chicken.  The pizza was a generous-sized meal for one person, a light meal for 2, or an appetizer for 4. Flavor and texture were both exceptional. There were lots of other good-sounding things on the menu (and they will do the whole restaurant menu in the bar), but this cried out to me that night.
Staff and service were excellent and friendly. At least 3 different people behind the bar helped me - I did not wait for anything - and everyone made it clear they were glad I was there. There was almost no one at the bar when I came in - the bar filled up nicely with some really congenial other guests - and by the time I left, I was the only one again! It really was a home away from home.
This is a good-sized place,so you can bring a big group here. I'd call and warn them, of course, so they can be prepared, but I think they can handle it. Also, this is a very short, easy walk from Ukiah's Comfort Inn, and jut a few steps further from Hampton Inn and Fairfield Inn (and anything else) on Airport Park Blvd. Don't bother starting your car.
In Ukiah again (or anywhere else on the 101 corridor through the Hopland/Redwood Valleys), I would certainly look forward to returning to Crush. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Good service, good exceptional food.  Any fool that is considering Applebees, across the street as an option is an idiot.  Ordering a margarita at an "Italian" steak house was a test and they more than pleased with drink and food.

Cannot comment on the food. They had 30% of tables filled and told us to wait at an unstaffed bar. They told us, "we have only one server tonight."

So we waited a few minutes, fumed, and left.  It didn't help that the manager at the front, when we arrived, seemed interested in talking to us, finding out how we learned about the place, etc. Then he disappeared, 10 seconds before the woman next to him told us that they could not seat us for a while since they only had one server.

At a well-run restaurant, there would not be 3-4 people up front with the sole job of telling you that there were too few servers.  It surprised us that the manager had not, immediately, helped out his staff.

We were in the mood for a good meal when we entered Crush. I have no idea if their kitchen staff is capable of it ; their staff in the front gave us no reason to try the food and every reason to leave.

We left, and went to a fine Ukiah restaurant that found a table quickly and had terrific food.  We also suggested that the resort we stayed at, pull the advertisements for Crush off their shelves.

We live in Chico and have a Crush restaurant here that we frequent often so we were thrilled when we found one out in Ukiah while out for the Hopland Passport for the weekend.

The food and drinks were great as usual but what really made this place a 5 star standout to me was the service we received from Adam. He went above and beyond to insure that not only our meal but our entire evening was amazing. He made us feel like we were part of the family and we had an absolute blast.

I hope the Chico restaurant will take notice and hopefully he can get transferred up to our neck of the woods so we can experience that level of service more often.

If your in Ukiah hit up Crush and ask for Adam, you won't be disappointed.

First night in Ukiah we came here.
Server was on point and we never had to ask for anything to be refilled (automatic) or for the bill.. they were all very attentive.

I had the Caesar salad and it was delicious :).
I had a bite of the fettuccine dish and it was good.
The actual salad bar is a nice option which is reasonably priced.
The desserts and meat options looked DELICIOUS as they were going by our table but I was too tired to eat anything else.

I now have a new favorite restaurant in the area, period.

While I really hoped that the predecessor restaurant would succeed, it seemed to suffer from complete ineptitude at management. Too bad. But the good news is, the new restaurant, now Crush, is the best restaurant I've been to in the Ukiah/Lake County/Willits area, period.

The obvious thing is the food, right? We decided to tour the menu on this starting with the salad bar. Okay, it's a bit pricey and the number of choices isn't extraordinarily huge, but the quality of what's there is first-rate. The roasted peppers were a particular favorite, but everything seemed to be top notch in the salad bar.

Next up, the soup of the day. In this case it was a sweet onion soup and was one of those things where you just were thrilled by every bite. This is the theme for the entire meal - each bit of food was absolutely magical with intense, wonderful flavors.

We also had a Bolognese pasta and the appetizer meatballs, most of which came home for a truly delightful meal the next day.

Our server was great, not stuffy and very friendly and prompt. Add to that that the entire staff seemed to care about us and the experience was just outstanding.

It was clear that someone knows how to run a joint and hire really good people to work with. I would never hesitate to go back and will do so frequently. Pricing was fair for the outstanding quality and great service. Truly the best restaurant in the area without question.

Oh, and how cool is it that I can just make a reservation with Yelp!? Probably very common down in the big city but here in the hinterland, not so much.

Nice try but fell well short of expectations!
    Better options in town.
18 bones for Chicken Parmesan that Olive Garden could do better for less.

I've been pleasantly surprised with both of my experiences at Crush. Some people have complained about the service, but our waitress (coincidentally the same both times we went) was very friendly and attentive. There was a large party that delayed the kitchen, but she kept us updated on our order, which we appreciated.

The salad bar is really yummy, with toppings and dressings beyond standard salad bar fare (quinoa, hearts of palm, and a delicious apple salad dressing - to name a few). I was also pleased with my pre-dinner margarita - they didn't skimp on the tequila!

I do wish that they served a side of veggies with their entrees -my flat iron and mashed potatoes looked a little lonely - but all in all we had a good time and would definitely come back.

Over priced, over rated.  Quality of food was OK but not on par with the price.  Ala Carte everything.  Service was mediocre at best.

Ukiah, CA is not a place I would expect to find a place like this. Crush is big, dynamic and tasty, and it's a new place. There are some bad reviews here, but don't let them scare you away from this place. The food is fantastic, and you won't find anything else like it anywhere near Ukiah. There are two kitchens from what I understand, and two bars. Crush offers a couple options for ambience, which includes more of a pub feel, or a fine dining feel.

I very much enjoyed my meal here, and the wine and beer selection is fantastic. Get a number of a local beers on draft, or choose from a wide variety of California wines. The managers and owner here are all great. Go here and enjoy a nice steak dinner, after which go to the delicious salad bar (because we should all be eating our salads after our meals, it's actually the healthier practice) and enjoy a home made dessert made in one of the two Crush kitchens. And bring your appetite!

Had reservations for two, they wanted to seat us in the breeze way/lobby.  The hostess said they were completely booked but as she walked us to the back bar to sit we saw plenty of seats open.  We had 6pm reservations and the first dish I tried to order, a pasta dish, they were out of.  Ordered the filet mignon medium well instead, it came to the table undercook.  I also found my side dish, tempura onion rings, to salty.  My experience with Crush was similar to the last restaurant at that site Branches, tried it..not worth the cash..won't go back.

First time at Crush. Seated immediately and the service was outstanding. My steak was cooked to perfection and my wifes prawns were very tasty. The only thing I did not care for is the salad bar, which was extra and having to pay $2 extra for a baked potato. We felt that the salad bar took away from the expirence. All in all is was very good and having been in the food buisness I would highly recommend them.

This place gets 2 stars because their service is awful. We waited 45 mins for our food, and there were other people that came in after us, yet they got their food before us.

It doesn't help that we were the only "yeller folk" in the bar area.

The steak is decent quality (I got the 16 oz ribeye), around black angus, which really isn't great for the amount you're paying. Cattleman's steak is better (minus their greasy as hell onion rings).

I'd rather blow 50 at either places mentioned above because at least their steak comes with sides. That's right. What you get here is a steak and mashed potatoes, and probably some constipation. Veggies? What are those?

Stopped in here to enjoy happy hour. We got two $5 pizzas! One cheeseburger pizza! Amazing!! It was like in and out on a pizza...sounds crazy but delicious! Also got the wild mushroom pizza and that too was just perfect. All this and some local Mendocino brewed beer on tap plus I got to satisfy my sweet tooth with a fantastic dessert! Gotta say overall I loved this place and the service was great as well. I don't know weather these other people went on a bad day or what but gotta say I loved my time here and plan on going back!

I think it's a bit overrated. Heard from a lot of people how great it was, so I decided to give it a try and I wasn't that impressed. Service was a bit slow, Waiter seemed a little inexperienced and not so welcoming. I've been in the food industry for about 10 years so I guess I have a high standard for customer service. Food was decent but a little pricey for what I got. May go back for drinks when I'm in town. That's about it.

I went there tonight for dinner. The restraunt part isn't open yet but the pub is open with the bar menu. I got a pizza and glass of wine. Both were great and the service very good. Lots of TVs. I'll for sure be back next time I'm in town.

The food and service were both outstanding!  The best Americanized Italian food that I've ever eaten.  I had chick parm and the husband had eggplant parm.  Both were superbly prepared and served piping hot.  I recommend getting reservations for this hot spot on the weekend.  Wait time was over 2 hours on Saturday night so we had to wait until Sunday to enjoy this visit.

Have been to Crush a few times now for both lunch and dinner.  I would say after a few rough experiences with the service in the beginning, they now are pretty dialed in!  The food, on all occasions has been excellent. Tonight I had a rack of ribs that I think could feed 3 people and also came with a massive amount of fries and coleslaw!  My wife loved her fish tacos with slaw and a baja style chipotle sauce and the appetizer meatballs were superb as a starter.  Great wine and beer selection as well.  The filet I had on a previous visit was cooked perfectly.  Chef Nate has done an amazing job!  Great happy hour too!  The pub is very casual and family friendly as well.  Great job!  4.5 stars.

Really Good food. Very Slooooooooooooooooooow Service. Waited an hour to get my food. Two couples showed up after us and they got bread and wine first, their food was there in about 10 minutes. I was so mad. Got up and told the girl serving the wine that I was first and she told me "oh your next" it should be 10 minutes, guess what I waited an hour. It's a very nice place but they need to improve their service.

I went to Crush for the first time on my birthday, a Tuesday. I had been to the previous incarnation, Branches, and it was okay. I mostly wanted to go to Crush because I knew the rest of my family would like it and be able to eat there (with all our dietary restrictions).

With my modest expectations, I have to say I was surprised in a good way. The old entryway was totally remodeled into a very comfortable waiting room. The main restaurant area is mostly booths now, which is both nicer and helps with the noise. The place was PACKED.

The service and food were both very good, with the food being a good value for the price. I was especially impressed with the top-notch salad bar which includes gourmet and healthy items, including a personal fave, hearts of palm.

Servicewise, most importantly for me I was able to order the Eggplant Parmesan with minimal garlic, as I have a sensitivity to it. The server was able to check with the chef and see what could be done, report to me in detail, and once the food came, I could tell that both the main course and the side had been de-garlic'd to the extent possible. I know this sounds like sacrilege for an Italian place- rest assured that everyone else enjoyed their garlicky dishes.

I will definitely go here again. Branches wasn't able to survive in this location, but I think they were too ambitious. Crush seems to be doing things right.

I would give this place 4 stars if it were exceptional in more than 1 way. The only way its exceptional to me is the price per portion..since the food is pretty good. However I do think the food lacks balance..most dishes I had were overly rich but the calamari was very good(taste and texture). My drinks were never quite right either. The service was odd..one waitress we had was very friendly but she needs to tone it down a bit and all the others were clueless and need to pick it up. The atmosphere is pretty nice but the pub tables can be too small for the plates, especially if they don't bring the appetizer before your meal. I had dinner here when it was Branches and it was a big waste of money then, so considering the kinks they need to work out(mostly w the staff),if i go back for dinner, its not going to be any time soon to give them a chance to get things together.

    Ok.
Last year we came here under different ownership and had ok food and got rousted too danged early for last call.
This year, we found out that there were new owners and that they would be open until...wait for it...11!
So...we had our friends meet us there.
It wasn't smoky. We didn't eat.
Stylistically, my old-fashioned was soda heavy and made me want a shot to go with. Hmmm.
The wife's martini was dirty and fine. But if I ask for Stoli and you don't want to walk back and get a fresh bottle...don't pretend that Absolut is an upgrade.
Generally speaking, staff were rude and lazy. The bartender looked to be working overtime to compensate for this. There is a great fireplace seating area available. How about staff not hog it up and leave it dirty when paying customers want to spend a hundo. Dirtiness is a general issue. The bar doesn't get wiped down. The kid that was assigned to a few tasks was watching his co-worker eat her dinner. When the employee stopped bogarting the fireplace, she left a total mess. Clean it up...wipe it down.
All in all, we essentially got our money's worth. We had to work too hard for it. For the level of attention and service, we should have been treated like rockstars.
The fact that we were happy for less smoke and flies doesn't really make the grade.
Also...North Beach is a real thing. All of us in attendance this evening have experienced it. I worked at Tower Records Bay and Columbus for many years. Don't insult my intelligence by co-opting the name and providing none of the spirit.
We will be back next year. It may be you or it may be someone else. We are committed to being respectable customers. Please, provide us with an honorable experience.

We went the week after opening and, while there were a few glitches, there were some solid positives too.

Nice environment, no more cob-webby branches hanging from the chandeliers and dropping dust into your food.

We had to wait about 45 minutes after our reservation time but in fairness it was probably their first 20+ person group.  The manager was super apologetic about it, giving us frequent updates, and then served our table the entire appetizer menu on the house.

Cocktails came pretty quickly, were decently made but this place has NOTHING on Patrona for drinks.  No fresh-squeezed juice, no herbs, nothing more than basic bartending.  My greyhound was made with grapefruit juice from concentrate and was WAY too sweet.  I'll stick with wine next time.

Food was decent, though I'm hoping to see them step it up to the next level over time.  With Healdsburg only a hop, skip and jump away I'd like to see Crush stretch to something better than the basic steak, pasta, chicken that is indistinguishable from Simona's.  I will say that Crush figured out Ukiah pricing better than Branches; they are in that sweet spot where I won't have to think twice about my pocketbook when I'm planning a night out.

Both my friend and I had linguini and clams, and we both had a dead unopened clam in our dishes, which is my biggest complaint by far.  We shared that feedback with our waiter, who was eagerly soliciting our honest feedback about the food.  When my friend shared his opinion that the brussel sprouts were disappointing (mostly steamed and flavorless, with some onion and bacon garnish) they were removed from his bill, even though we said that was unnecessary.

Our waiter, Boyd, was fantastic!  Funny, attentive, not perfect but clearly a super pro just working through the kinks of a new opening.  The service was what I would have expected in San Francisco, not Ukiah. Was a little disappointing they can't split a check more than three ways per table even though we asked them upfront; I get the inconvenience but having one person pay and try to recoup costs accurately for a large group is darn near impossible and would potentially prevent me from planning large dinners there.

I'll definitely go back, and continue to hope that the place goes from "good-for-Ukiah" to "just straight up good!" food.

Crush is the Newest Italian Steakhouse & Pub out here in Ukiah, Ca. And this is our 1st time to try it!! My husband is a liquidator and we do a lot of travelling! So we are kind'a tired of Patrona and so we decided to ask his employee's what's NEW??? out here in Ukiah!! Sure enough, they said go to Crush!! And our hotel was just a few minutes walk in that place. We're staying at the Hampton's hotel, and it was just right there! I had ordered the New York Steak with their salad bar! It was awesome! Service was impeccable! We didn't have a problem finding a seat at the bar!!! The place is packed! The ambianced and the decorator was great!! I will be back at this place!!! 5 stars all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made reservations and went for dinner as a party of 4 on a Friday night, last Friday in fact.  The place was packed which made me worry.  (at Branches, when they were packed, it'd take 2 hours to get your dinner and you'd be lucky if you got the drink you ordered, there were times we didn't even get our drinks because they never check on us.)  We started off with drinks, the bread came immediately and the drinks followed within 10 minutes and they were even cocktails which nicely surprised me, all of us actually.  She took our orders when ready and I ordered prosciutto wrapped prawns (which were huge) and a side of spinach to share.  My friend ordered the new york steak and my boyfriend ordered a ribeye, our other guest had eaten already so he just had drinks.  I have to say, they were VERY attentive!  She checked on us at least every 10 minutes, maybe more and was very friendly.  I thought this place was 10 times more organized than Branches.  The meal tasted great, everyone liked their choice, no one had ANY issues.  I really like this place and I think I can speak for all of us saying that, we all had a great time, they checked on us and our food was bomb!  I recommend giving em a try.  At branches, I thought the food was good but it took FAR too long to get it and the customer service was HORRIBLE!  This place is not like that, this place is great.  :)

I'm in town for a few days and decided to give this place a try. This place is like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hide.

They said it would be 15 minutes wait for the main restaurant which was beautiful and very inviting, but I didn't feel like waiting so I went into the bar area, which also has tables. Bad decision: It was busy, very noisy, and dumb sports games on everywhere you look. Margarita was good and the fish tacos were tasty too. I paid and left to use the bathroom where I entered into the main restaurant area; I felt like I'd landed in Oz.

The main restaurant was quiet, tranquil, gorgeous fireplace, inviting atmosphere and so much nicer. Plus they have a bar there as well, which was empty! I could have sat there if they didn't have a server available to seat me right away.

I told the woman at the front (who was very eager to get my feedback, offer to reseat me inside the nice side, and wanted my feedback). The staff are very good, especially the service guys.

This place so much potential. Here's my suggestion: "Feel out your guests" to see where they'd most easily fit. I'm mature, nerdy, and had my backpack. I obviously didn't want to go to "Hooters"! I wanted to read and be "chill." The bar area, despite its abundant tables was too rowdy and "sports-barish." Capitalize on the better menu, the better atmosphere, and likely higher bills on the ample sized main restaurant.

I plan to return to try the other side. I think this place will be very popular as they get the kinks worked out.

We went to Crush on the first night they served, before they officially open, so they were serving only their pub menu.

Philly cheesesteak was serviceable, roll was soft, meat was nothing special but pleasantly peppery. Meatball appetizer had a nice red sauce and made an okay, if small, main course; nice and hot. Cobb salad was pretty good, dressing a bit bland. House salad vinaigrette was strange and they argued with us when my husband sent it back (he's allergic to eggs, they insisted there was no egg in the dressing even though he got an allergic reaction from it).

The space is nice and I'm sure it will be a good restaurant when they sort things out a bit.
