Nice place to go to sometimes..and sometimes not. Sometimes it just gets too crowded and annoying. Most of the time it's enjoyable. Plenty of pool tables. There's a nice little corner with the "fireplace" (can't remember if it was a real fireplace or not) to hang out around. Must show ID at the door. Parking can be tough around there.
Review Source:DO come here if you're into cuddling next to other couples around a pit of fire.
DON'T come here if you're not into overpriced food, heavily diluted drinks, and  elusive wait service.
If you're into a more relaxing, intimate environment, come on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. There are fewer people and you don't have to breathe in other couples' hot nostril air while they're making out on the couches. I've come here on dates and have really preferred the more low-key, intimate Wednesdays to the loud, cuddle-with-your-date-and-the-other-person-next-Âto-you Fridays and Saturdays.
"Hostess" is never at the front. You always stand around wondering what to do... But unfortunately you need her in order to get balls. Any kind really...but I'm talking about pool.
The bar is pretty lame too... Most mixed drinks seem to be poured with more mix than drink...cheap but consumer pays too much for a glass of juice w some ice basically.
Decor is nice.. Ok crowd considering its bell blvd (we know the type of ppl it attracts)
Waitresses are nice
I visited Cue Bar on a Friday night with two other friends. There was a decent crowd on the pool floor and at the bar. The place is nice. There are many pool tables, ping pong tables, and air hockey.
Upon arriving at our assigned pool table, a waitress took our order. But she never came back for a long while. The place was crowded and our table was the last table in the corner, so one of us just went up to the bar ourselves. While my friend was away, the floor waitress visited. She asked if she could get us more drinks. When I told her that one of us went to the boor, she looked at the table and said unpleasantly, "Well, uh okay." Her response was a major turn off. I don't mind having no service, but her attitude and approach were unprofessional.
Cue Bar does have specials on Thursdays which ladies play and drink for free, which would make me go because although the price for an hour for 3 people on Friday is only $6.50, all beers are $6, which is a little high, for me.
Clean, lively atmosphere. Servers are all really nice, and they'll always check if you need anything. I love how smooth and well-kept the pool tables are.
One time there was a double-charge on my credit card and the manager (or maybe owner?) fixed it for me, no problem. He's a really nice person, as are most of the staff there.
My only problems with this place:
1) The food absolutely sucks. The pizza that was supposed to have a topping came with literally two tiny chunks of pepper. TWO.
2) It's so damn expensive! Every time I come here, my bill always comes up to at least $40, even without food and drinks.
Come if you're around and want to kill time, or grab a few drinks. But if you're looking to play pool for a while, I would just head to Flushing.
I was in the area and felt like a quick drink while watching part of an NFL game. Â I found the Cue Bar, which was a nice surprise, considering the immediate area did not have too much to mention. Â The place was huge, with lots and lots of pool tables, and a good-sized bar. Â Everything was clean and in good condition, and the bartender was very attentive and fast, taking care of everyone at the bar with seemingly little effort.
Although I came alone and only wanted a quick drink, this is a place that I'll definitely be back for to play pool and hang out with friends!
I went to this place with one of my friends and notice the service sucked! I order one drink and a thin crust pizza. The pizza was ok, but I didnt understand why the dipsey waitress though it was ok to bring 1 napkin. I had to walk across the pool room to obtain more napkins meanwhile the dipsey waitress was hanging out at the bar talking.
The idiot waitress did not check on us until "10 minutes before her shift end". She first ask if we need anything else AFTER she gave our check. I told her no and that i might order something later. She walked away then turn arround and said her shift is about to end and has to close her draw. I told her that I shouldnt have to pay separate tabs just because she is leaving. She hold up other receipts from other patrons as her so call proof. What she was REALLY doing was to try to get all her tips before she left for the night. So I made the idiot very clear that her slick move and poor service will justify of me not ordering thing else and her dumb ass will not get a tip. My friend tip her $1.50 from her tab and that's it. Like I said, the idiot did not check on us, waited till the end of her shift to do so, and spend most of her time sitting at the bar. Never going back here again!
Needed to catch the Mets Vs. Yankees and The Celtics Vs. Heats game.
Both airing at the same time, we decided to come here since I remembered they had a good amount of televisions at the bar.
The had both games on! and the nba game was on the projector screen in the back for people shooting pool and playing Ping Pong. Â
The bartender Vanessa was very friendly, helpful and might I add cute! Â She had a lot of customers ordering drinks, but we were still able to get her attention anytime we needed something. Â She was even able to help my friend charge his Iphone behind the bar. Â
Since we're sitting for a while watching the games, we decided to order the beer tower for my friend and I. That's 30 Dollars for 120 Ounces of beer (10 Beers) And it comes with a complimentary side choice. Â We got a free order of wings!!
Pool tables and ping pong tables are both well maintained. Â I spotted a beer pong table as well but wish we saw this before we finished the tower of beer. Â Overall very clean pool hall and bar. Â With some good music being spun by a live DJ at night.
ohh cue bar, how would i have survived winter without you! i love the city. but i absolutely hatee the cold! but thanks to cue bar, instead of rotting at home under my sheets, i still had a blast all througout winter!!!
first off, the decor is so wonderful! everything is new and the fire place is such an elegant touch. the dj always spins good music, the beer pong table is readily available- this place is seriously so much fun!
they have happy hour and i think wednesdays are ladies night (free drinks for all the ladies)!
ohhhhh cue bar! i loveeee youuuu!!! this is definitely one of my favorite places in the world!
Went here on a Thursday night. Not many customers there, but yet the service sucked!!! After placing our drink order with the waitress, we waited for about 10 minutes. My friend finally went up to the bar, just to be told that the drink order was not even put in and wound up bringing the drinks to our table. Lots of empty pool tables but i wouldn't go back only because the service was sooo bad.
Review Source:I've been here a few times - mostly to hang out in the lounge area & bar. Â I love their coconut mojitos. Â I think Tuesday nights are 1/2 price drinks so it's worth the trip to no-parking-ville...
On Saturday night it's crazy crowded - the music is good, the service is so-so, the food is so-so...I don't get caught up on little things because IT'S A Bar!!! Don't expect white-glove service when you're not going to a 5 star restaurant! Â And please don't ask for service if you aren't prepared to tip - it's rude!
Any-who, a good place to enjoy some time with friends.
Although the place is a little cramped as far as pool tables go (kinda hard not to get in someone's way when taking a shot) it is still a really chill place to come play with a few friends. Its about average as far as prices go for drinks and games, but I do like that they have waitresses come by with your order every so often.
They have some cool events going on from time to time and if I'm not mistaken they have karaoke on sundays if I recall correctly. Oh and its in Bayside, nuff said.
Only trouble here is parking, be prepared to circle the block a few times, or risk you car getting towed in the lot next door.
I'll stick up for this place despite all the other not so great reviews. I noticed there are lots of complaints about service. There were only 2 waitresses while I was there, but if you sit at the bar like I did, the bartender is attentive in getting you another drink. I also really liked the selection of drinks that this place had. I didn't know what to get at first. I started off with a Long Island Iced Tea which I wouldn't do again in the future, the Summer Breeze is a better starter. The Almond Joy is a nice finish because of the chocolate. Drinks were only $4 and we got a free appetizer each which came with 3 pieces of whatever you want.
The music was also good, I got to listen to Lynard Skynyrd, Nirvana, and all the other stuff I like while relaxing. After Happy Hour was over we went to play some ping pong which was actually really fun.
This place looks like it would be fun for a group of guys and girls. The guys can play pool and the girls can enjoy some drinks at the bar/lounge or do both :)
Been here a few times the last few weeks....especially on Tuesdays where it's 50% off at the bar. Â Overall, the place is a decent place to chill with some friends to shoot pool and grab a few beers. Â The place isn't crowded with young kids causing a raucous like the other pools halls in the area.
The only complaint is that they never seem to have enough staff on hand. At times, my friends and I will wait upwards of a half hour to have a waitress come by the table to see if we want more drinks.
This place has definitely lost its touch. I use to come here a lot when it was once Slate, and boy has it changed, for the worst. Maybe it's because they aim to be more club like, when it's not and their service is horrible. They have so much attitude all i can do it laugh it off. What do you expect for a place trying to be something they're not? There's definitely better places than this if you just want to relax and have a nice time.
Review Source:Excellent spot for a group of friends to catch up and have a good time. The food was very good,, quesadilla well prepared, and the mozzarella pizza is a must. If your looking for a spot to chil out shoot some pool, and laugh it up, this is the spot. They could use some more TVs around the pool tables, to accomadate for the downtime when your not shooting pool, otherwise this spot is a go.
Review Source:I've been here a couple of times and it's a pretty chill spot. The pool prices are mediocre, not as cheap as some other places. They do charge by the person though, which I hate. If I have a group larger than two people though, I just tell them that only 2 people are playing. I've always come here on a weekend night at around 9-10pm and never had to wait for any table.
One thing about this place is it tries to be some sort of  hybrid club/lounge/pool hall. It has a great ambiance that's really trendy. On weekends, they have a live DJ and the music is pretty good. I've never tried the food, but I've seen some of the plates coming out of the kitchen and they look and smell pretty good. They also have flat screens and one big projector screen, which was driving me a little crazy because it projects a mirror image behind it and the back side was facing the pool tables. They had the world series on and it kept throwing me off, because it looked like the hitters were running to 3rd base every time they would hit the ball, lol.
Overall, it's a nice place to go to if you just want to shoot some pool, have a drink and listen to some good music.
Thieves....all I can say. When you have bartenders who scam for a 20 percent tip you should be out of business. I met with friends who were buying their own drinks. One person decided to buy a round and the bartender proceeded to run a bill on this woman's card when she did not layout the terms of what was being billed for. So the bartender said we were a large party sitting at the bar and charged the 20percent gratuity. After trying to explain how she incorrectly billed the drinks we asked for the manager 'robert', he did not even want to listen to the situation and threatened to call the cops. Unacceptable in my eyes. Â After much debate he said it was too hard to split the bill correctly. Â We were fully ready to pay the bill and to be treated like a deadbeat means you do not want my business.
Review Source:Cue Bar used to be a weekly haunt for me way back in the day when it was still Slate. Since then, it has lost its liquor license a few times for serving to minors - which was a big turn-off for my friends and I after we were finally of drinking age (remember, way back in the day).
Well my best bud wanted to shoot pool over the weekend, and we kinda wanted to avoid the kiddy crowd that tends to occupy the pool halls in the Flushing area. Knowing that Cue Bar checks IDs after 9PM made the decision very simple.
I arrived well before the rest of my group and was welcomed by a very friendly bartender by the name of Vanessa. She's awesome. That's all I have to say about that. They have a couple of brews on tap including Brooklyn Lager. Nice.
Food looked pretty good, one of the manager's friends was munching on some wings at the bar - oh, and speaking of wings, there's Wednesday wing specials here! 25 cent wings with the purchase of a beer bucket. Thursdays are Ladies' Night featuring an open bar from 9pm to 1am and free pool for all you ladies out there. I've actually never gone on a Thursday (no real incentive for me anyway) but I'm curious how the crowd is like.
The ambiance is pretty nice, it's dark enough in places that should be dark and bright enough by the pool tables. Music trends towards electronica - which sucks because I need a good smooth beat to get into my shooting rhythmn.
Waitress service is very sporadic and inconsistent. They never seem to come when you need and the only seem to come by when you're no longer interested/already got your drinks.
The prices for pool are pretty steep, the prices for ping pong are very reasonable. I never understood charging extra per person for a pool table when the most people that can play at a time is 4. However, the tables are very well maintained and the cues aren't all bent out of shape like most other pool halls.
Face it, as far as classy pool halls go, Cue Bar's the way to go. -1 star for the waitresses. -1 star for high pool prices. +1 star for Vanessa.
I like this place. I went with my girlfriend and my friend and his girl. We just wanted somewhere local for drinks and Bell Blvd is a hop skip and a jump away. We walked in thinking the Car Tuner Crowd would be here in full effect but it had a mix of everybody. The lounge in the back is where we chilled with a fireplace in the center. Kind of romantic is some sort of way. There was a huge bar and lots of tables for pool and games. A great hang-out place. I will be back!
Review Source:Since Millenium closed down, we had to look for another Pool hall.
There's a wait for Pool tables on the weekends and the music (Provided by a DJ near the bathrooms) is decent bit a little too loud for a Pool hall. Â
There are also 2 Ping Pong tables in the back left hand corner, and only 3 Mega touch consoles.
Waitress service is lacking. Â Trying to get their attention is time consuming. Â Finally went to the bar where they sent the next available waitress over to our table. Â If they want this to be more of a bar/lounge, shouldn't the service be up to par?
I'm not sure if we'll be coming back here again. Â They renovated and renamed it to make it more modern but it's not the same as it used to be when it was Slate. Â It's more of a club/lounge vibe. Â There's even a make out corner with a fire place. Â How romantic to go to a Pool club and make out with your date.
Been coming here for years when my friends want to play pool in Bayside. It's a nice place with some cool music, but I'm not a fan of the whole club/pool thing.
Service used to be a lot better years ago. It used to be a nice poolhall, but recently the management is aiming more in the club/lounge direction, which is cool, but not for me.
Decent place to watch a game - they have a couple of mid-sized LCDs over the bar and some projection screens in the pool area. Â The night we went there, this waitress kept coming around offering free cups of Negro Modelo, which the manager later explained was just because he felt it's an under-appreciated beer living in the shadow of Corona. Â I just nodded and drank.
Beers are cheap, $5.50 for an Amstel.
Previously known as Slate back in my day, doesn't look like much has changed. Its spacious, there are nice lounge areas on the side, the bar is pretty big, service was friendly. I came for happy hour with a friend and drinks were half off, the food was pretty good for bar food. I don't play pool so there just wasn't anything too special about this place but I guess if you're looking for a nice pool hall I would recommend here.
Review Source:Irresponsible pool hall and worst customer service ever.
They gave away my friend's credit card to another party. My friend spent an hour in the back room with the Cue staff trying to straighten out this matter. The result was Cue Bar reversing the charges on his card, my friend cancelling his card, and Cue Bar giving us a bunch of pool vouchers, a bunch of @ss kissing and them promising our group we would be taken care of for the night (drinks and pool on the house).
One hour later, they charge us for shooting pool, gave us attitude, and had all of a sudden forgotten the whole credit card shenanigan or that they promised we would be taken care of.
Better Business Bureau, here we come.
Good place for playing pool.
Good atmosphere.
Nice bartenders.
Decent music.
Overall an ok place to hang out. Appetizers are very addicting and of course their drinks are decent. I actually love their Chocolate Martini. They also have specials during the week and Happy Hour with buy 1 drink and get an appetizer free. Not bad huh??
Not the ideal place to want to hear anything the person sitting next to you is saying. However i did like the choice of bar, table or couch scene. Â I went on a Saturday night and it was not crowded at all, which was another plus.
After having a few blue moons and almond martini's, my girls and I decided to take a crack at pool. Â We had a great time. Â It took 3468932 years to get a drink, but luckily we were still feeling our previous second round.
My suggestion is to go straight to playing pool, since the music is so damn loud, sitting at a table is pointless.
Fun place to hang out if you just want to have a good time with your friends.
Sky*
This pool hall is gorgeous as far as pool halls go. Â Definitely not just a hole in the wall with some pool tables thrown in.
Waitresses are very nice and attentive even if you're just drinking soda.
There's a ladies night - but I can't recall which day... It ends up being dirt cheap.
Plus - unlike a lot of places in Queens - there's a LOT of parking!
Its a good place to be if you are in a sporty mood, can play pool. I go to the place with my friend very often, Bartender is nice, but the waitresses they are awesome. Big screen adds to the sporty mood. Definitily a place to be when you dont wanna hit a club, you can spend time in ping pong also. No cover.
