DC Cobbs

We came here after a funeral. after hearing from locals about all the great places to eat in town. After a long, terribly emotional day, we were desperately in need of a drink and a bite to eat. Entering the place, we soon realized that we walked into the the middle of the televised Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks game during the Stanley Cup playoffs. Our waitress, in training (so we learned) was perky, attentive to our requests and timely in her responses. The place was loud, of course. Two of us chose the Black Angus burgers and declared them delicious. The third member of our party chose the wedge salad and found it to be just OK (dressing tasted bottled). Personally, I think the menu leaves a lot to be desired for those who choose to eat more wisely. Would I recommend this place? Yes, but only if I'm in the mood for a quality burger in a really noisy pub.

I gave DC Cobb's a fair amount of visits after their revamp- only to be left underwhelmed and disappointed each time.  If it's not the lack of food in the kitchen (three menu items were 'out')- it's the mediocre food that is served or the watered down mixed drinks.  The only constant at DC Cobbs is the snotty service- seriously, we're in Woodstock people- bring it down a notch.  It's expensive, it's unimpressive, and I'll be damned if I'm dragged here again!

went to Cobbs last week as I heard they had a new menu. the menu consists of several artisinal burgers with assorted toppings, like marinara or mac and cheese with some interesting combos. my wife had the mac and cheese version and was very happy with it. big burger and comes with a side which in this case was a very nice potato salad. I got the boneless wings, which were tasty but lacked crunch for some reason. the new beer menu has some nice addtions like Dogfish Head and Allagash. there are also mac and cheese variations with several diffrent toppings available. all good gastropub style grub. Dan and Julius have doen a nice job with this new menu. I'll be back to sample more.
