Slowest Denny's ever.
No hostess when we walked in..... waited and waited and didn't even seen any staff come out of the kitchen so we sat ourselves at the counter.
Waited and waited more to have anyone come out. They finally did- then the wait for water. Then the wait for our order to be taken. Literally 30 min we got to order.
Note to the staff- we can hear you arguing and yelling at each other from the front entrance. Get a watch or a clock or something so you know when NONE of you have been out from behind the kitchen in 10 minutes.
I've eaten at tons of Denny's because you know what you're going to get and that can be priceless when on the road. Food was decent but after waiting close to 45 min from when we walked in (at 9pm on a Sat. night with under 10 tables full) I would have eaten a shoe.
My boyfriend and I stopped in on New Year's day, on our way back home from a weekend in Napa. Â First of all the hostess was on the phone when we walked in, with what sounded like an employee calling in sick...no biggie these things happen...but from that moment on, we definitley felt the absence of this missing employee. Â We were seated, given our menus, and after deciding on what to eat....we waited, and waited......and waited probably 20 minutes for the waitress to come to our table. Â
The quality of the food, that finally arrived was ok to just good. Â I had the Turkey dinner which resembled something of a frozen dinner. Â My boyfriends meal wasn't much better.
Now onto waiting for our bill. Â We must have waited another 20 minutes for our waitress. Â The place wasn't extremely busy either.
I think I will try The Iron Skillet across the street, next time we pass through Corning.
Yeah, it's Denny's but I was looking for a hot breakfast and decided to stop in. It's attached to Love's truck stop, but don't let that fool you. The waitstaff are super friendly and attentive- two details that I rate right off the bat. Must be pretty new place though as it looked and felt like it probably just opened not long ago. Food was hot and delicious- the hot part being another point in my book for breakfasts. The waitstaff tend to let most breakfasts sit under the heat lamps too long before taking it out to your table, but not here! All in all, a great experience. Yeah, some of the Denny chain restaurants can be dives and full of really weird people, but this one rates high in my book.
