I flew my plane for an hour for this crap??
The 'Italian' food was canned and void of any interesting flavor.... The marinara sauce even tasted 'tinny' Â At least if they're gonna use canned sauce, add a few spices eh? Â I tried the food from my friend's plates: it wasn't any better. Â A plate of bland chicken and more of the same sauce. Â Was that American cheese in italian food? Â This unappetizing meal was something straight from a Cafeteria tray.....
Yuck.
One star extra for location.
Maybe they had a bad day. Â A very bad day in the kitchen. Â Something called butternut squash soup, that well, wasn't close to what it should have been. Â Then, cold food. Â Plain, nothing special about the meal as anticipated for the setting and for the old reputation. Â Again, maybe a bad day in the kitchen, well, it was. Â From soup, to steak to burnt fried shrimp, coming out black........ Â But, the waiter was very good, professional.
Review Source:Food is good, but the menu doesn't change much. I really try to avoid pasta, but there doesn't seem to be much other than that and veal here.
I've never been here while an airplane has landed, but it's still a nice view.
The beer selection is just barely adequate. They have Sam Adams, but I'm not sure if there's any craft beer.
It would be a great restaurant at which to eat before a flight, for sure. The outside area is down a flight of steps so I feel bad sitting there, making the wait staff navigate the steps all the time.
On the tele you'll usually see Celine Dion or some other dude repeating over and over. So the music is awful, but it's not any worse than that crap they play at the Olive Garden.
So we like going here, but I'd pick TD Club or Tin Lizzy over this if I had to choose. Probably Chef Mark's too.
As a frequenter of restaurants all over the country and world in our business travels, it is saying something that this was the worst restaurant meal ever. Â Overlooking the runways at the Latrobe airport, the location is fantastic with a warm and pleasant ambiance. Â Unfortunately, the food doesn't come close to matching the setting. Â I ordered the Denunzio trio sampler comprised of chicken parmesan, cheese ravioli, and fettucine alfredo. On first bite of the chicken, I wasn't even sure what it was. It didn't taste remotely like chicken. Â After a couple more bites, I decided it might be detrimental to my health to continue so moved on to the fettucine alfredo. Typically alfredo sauce keeps you coming back for more with its rich creamy texture. One bite of this tasteless starch was one bite too many. Â The cheese ravioli was edible but not particularly enjoyable. Â Cracking open a generic can of tomato sauce and heating it up in the microwave would taste better than their supposedly homemade sauce. Â It is beyond my comprehension how they could ruin food so horribly. Â Delicious pasta sauces can be purchased directly from the grocery store shelves so there is no excuse for what we were served. I thought maybe I just got a bad batch of food so stole a fork full of my husband's spicy sausage with pasta only to find his was just as disgusting as mine. Â My chicken and his sausage both tasted really old. Â To be fair, the calamare was good and so was the bread. We were informed the bread is purchased frozen. Since we were with other people, we didn'tt feel it was appropriate to make a scene about the food. Â The place was full of customers on a Saturday night which was surprising after the pitiful example of food that we experienced.
Review Source:I can only review for their Sunday brunch....for 2 adults and one paying child, one child was free since he was 5...the bill was $52. Kinda steep, but the food was quite good. They had an omelet bar, eggs Neptune, french toast, lyonaisse potatoes that were awesome, a table of various salads, smoked salmon, fruit salads, rolls, etc. One the lunchy side they had lemon pepper chicken, Parm crusted tilapia, ziti, shepherds pie, au gratin potatoes, and a carving station with ham and roast beef, both were nice and juicy, with optional glaze and au ju.
The dessert tables in the bar section were a tad confusing, but space wise it was necessary. I would skip the chocolate mousse again, but the pumpkin roll was delicious.
Our server was great, an obvious "lifer." We arrived at 10:15, we seated right away and watched some planes take off and land while the servers finished putting out all of the food. By the time we left at 11:00 it was getting pretty full.
Family and I would happily go again, the planes kept the kids happy, the coffee was good, and the servers were great.
We traveled for an hour to get here and I have been looking forward to a romantic dinner. Â It was a Friday night and the hostess asked us if we had a reservation. Â "Uh-oh!" I thought. Â But then I took a better look at the restaurant, it was huge! Â I can understand why they do weddings and banquets here. Â Not only because it is spacious, but because of the large windows facing the runway.
They bring out fresh bread, but we also opted for the bruchetta appetizer. Â Instead of tomatoes, it was topped with roasted red peppers and topped with fresh basil; an excellent combination! Â For our entrees we both chose their sampler trios, one with two types of pasta and some chicken and the other had three types of chicken. Â It was a great way to sample several items on their menu and kept my tongue entertained. Â The trio samplers also came with a choice of soup or salad. Â The Italian wedding soup is some of the best I have ever had. Â
Great service. Â Great food. Â Great atmosphere. Â Will definitely be back!
I agree about the view. . . Very nice. This place is more pricey, but I've yet to have a bad meal there. Â Good for more formal-take your time-sit down occasions. Â Good for romantic dates. Â Good for large groups. Â Wine List available. Â Reservations taken but not required. Â Some bar seating. Â Kids can find something to eat on the menu (spaghetti if nothing else or a simple sandwich)
Review Source:Went to a banquet party here. This place has an amazing view of the runway with some views of older model planes. I went at around sunset so that added to a more pleasant experience. Since I didn't get to eat off the menu I can't say much for that but the banquet hall had amazing views. Would recommend for any banquet/gathering.
Review Source:This is the third DeNunzios restaurant opened in the area and it is in the space previously occupied by the Blue Angels restaurant in the Latrobe Airport. Â This place has wonderful atmosphere and overlooks the airport.
The food is excellent they have a great menu and an even better Sunday Brunch buffet that will allow you to sample a bunch of their food.
