Came back to the Derailer- amazing service by Nikki. Coors was doing a promotion raffle so if you buy Coors products you get raffle tickets. I won a free jacket. Woo Hoo. Live music by White Water Ramble made the bar more energetic and quite the place to be. A Mardi Gras celebration was happening at the resort and beads were everywhere. Again we ordered the nachos and frickles- such a hit to pair with the Mary Jane beer. My friend from Brazil devoured her first ever mozzarella cheese sticks. Derailer Bar has great atmosphere, good bar food and excellent service. It keeps me coming back.
Review Source:Derailer Bar, I like you just okay. If I could give half stars, I'd probably make this a 3.5.
Why? Well, you're a resort bar, so clearly the food is always going to be more expensive than it needs to be. Boo. But, I get it. Your menu is short but sweet (thumbs up for the spicy frickles), you carry all the requisite tourist, ski-resort drinks ($2 beer happy hour specials; but your hot toddy? weak!), you've got plenty of outdoor seating, tons of tv's, and naturally a great view.
Plus, a few years ago I spent the most hilarious morning here after an unfortunate too-small-ski-boot-had-to-buy-(orange)-crocs-for-Âthe-day incident which also involved me drinking a countless number of bloodies at the bar waiting for my group. Good times, good times. Delicious bloodies, highly recommended.
And it's not your fault that people can't read signs (particularly the "wait to be seated" and the "don't bring your own food in" ones), but you may want to step up the promptness of your service. Sure, it's a packed resort, but no reason to be too leisurely about everything.
