This is definitely a quirky restaurant in a quirky town.
We were greeted by a woman in her 50s who was quite the atypical hostess. Â She was talking with other people almost as if she was in a group of her friends. Â After a brief but awkward exchange, we sat down.
Our server was in his mid 20s and offered to make us snake bites(Guinness and Hard Cider), almost as if he felt bad for their tap beer offering.
There was a giant sign out front that said "It's Banger time." Â Indeed it was.
The meal too a strange turn when a man with a parrot on his shoulder walked in and the bird squawked the entire time. Â Could have done without that.
Cool spot. Owner is a nice British woman who was sitting at the bar and chatting with customers. The bartender was really nice and the service was quick and efficient. Â They have around 12 taps with a pretty good mix of beers, including local micros and UK standards. Very casual, bordering on divey, but I like that. They also have a decent menu with some UK mainstays (fish and chips, bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, etc...). Â I had the bangers and mash, which were good.
