I was out at Diamond Lil's Saloon to hear some live music on Memorial weekend, the bands were great and the food was even better. Â I had the Burger Patty Melt with the Onion Rings, best food in Big Bear Lake. Next time you visit Diamond Lil's tell them Dean sent you, I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a great lakeside view and some awesome food.
Review Source:The staff was very sweet... Brought the whole family with toddlers and baby... iPA beer was very good.  Sautéed mushrooms were just OK and the tri-tip was wonderful.  Best of all was the view. I think this is the best lake view of all restaurants in Big Bear.  Kaitlin served us and she was knowledgable and very sweet too.
Review Source:I gave this bar a 3 star review because it was a 4 for the bar side and a 2 on the food side. The bar was nice, large, great prices, and free ping pong/shuffleboard and .50¢ pool. We had a blast on Sunday night. We went again for lunch today, however, and we were extremely disappointed. It was understaffed, so 2 people were running the whole place, and try were working hard...but understandably the service lacked. The food turned out horrible after the long wait. Everything about all 3 of our plates was gross (chili burger/fireball burger/ brisket). We didn't finish..JUST come for the bar. The view of the lake was great though!
Review Source:The food was absolutely not edible. "Balsamic" vinegar for salad and "malt" vinegar for fish was the same red wine vinegar. Creamed spinach was wilted spinach in a bowl of milk. My mashed potatoes that came with my trout had chicken gravy on them. None of the food came at the same time. Do not eat here!!
Review Source:Ok, food is cheap and is just ok (it's regular food that you can make at home and own will taste better) but the service, the management, and the server's uniforms are BAD. Went there for a friend's party...which had a reservation for several people. The servers did not know about it (apparentely the waitress that took the reservation failed to mention it so they were understaffed and their attitude made us feel like it was our fault that ...they were not happy about it).
Eventually we sat outside. While the indoors decor has a neat western look, the outside patio is worse looking than an unkept  backyard. Random "grass" carpet set up, with residential looking patio sets on the lake. Thank goodness for the pretty lake and view. The patio has so much potential to be neat, but there are porta potties, and an old run down outhouse to enjoy looking at (eew!). The bathrooms inside need some clean up and sprucing up, too. I thought this was going to be like the Mill Creek Restuarant in Mentone, but it's nothing like it. I'm not sure if this place should even be open yet. Oh, and someone was smoking on the outdoor patio - isn't there a law against that here in California???
Oh, and the manager guy - seemed really drunk. Maybe if he had been sober the place could have been better managed and maybe the servers would have been more courteous. By the time the food came (I ordered the simplest item on the menu - a chili bowl) it was cold. They forgot the sour cream and bread that comes with it. The lady that went around to the tables letting us know about the karaoke was loud and obnoxious.
I hate to leave a bad review, but I just thought the place would have the cute western style and good down to earth service that you get at the Mentone one, but it's not the same at all.
Went there on Sunday after a movie with my mom. We sat down outside and it took ten minutes before we even had someone come by to take our drink order and ask if we wanted food. Another 5-10 minutes before we got our drinks and menu's. 10 minutes before our orders were taken and it was another 20 minutes after that before we got our food.
My mom's salad was good, which was apparently why the food took so long (they wanted to make sure the chicken for the salad was done enough). My veggies burger was dry, the bun was hard, the lettuce was wilted. I asked for ranch to go with my sweet potato fries and the waitress never came back. When she finally came back to ask how the food was, she finally remembered I wanted ranch. I do have to say they have GREAT sweet potato fries, and like I said my moms salad was really good. I think we got unlucky with our waitress because the people around us had decent and speedy service.
The view is AMAZING which really si why I wasn't too irritated while I was waiting the long times between service, but they really need to get more organized.
Dive Bar. Â Went to the "restaurant". Â Had a hard time finding the hamburger in the hamburger. Â HORRIBLE SERVICE. Â BILL MESSED UP. Â SO NOISY COULD NOT HEAR ANYTHING. Â BUD WARM??? Â What is whith this. Â Took at least 30 min to get a waitress.. then just a nightmare. Â One of our party got dinner they did not order, wrong fries, etc etc. Â
AVOID... Â COOK AT HOME BEFORE YOU GO THERE
If you're visiting Big Bear Lake...you have to come to Diamond Lil's! My husband and I came to big bear as a birthday getaway and this bar was walking distant from our cabins. We had SO much fun here. First, they have the most gorgeous views of the lake. There's a sitting area outside so you can just sit with a drink in hand and take on the views. Maybe we were there for happy hour or something but the beers were so such a good deal! Â It's a really nice dive bar. I'd have to disagree with the other reviews that this place is run down etc. I thought it was one of the best looking dive bars I've been to in a while. There's a room with a ping pong table and a pool table. When we went it was it was karaoke night. But the best had to be the people.
It's definitely a place to hang out with the locals. They were so friendly and welcoming. The bartender was great! Â She was personable and nice. They gave my husband a birthday shot once they found out it was his birthday. If you're looking for someplace down to earth with a great view and nice people, come to Diamond Lil's.
So excited to finally have the old Vintage reopen. Sad to see it was DiamondLil's but would give it a try anyway as it's the best location in Big Bear. Unfortunately I was right. The bar was dirty, dead flies on every window sill, tables were sticky, floors a mess. When the server came over to take our order she just wiped her arm across our table to clear it. Too bad!
Review Source:Diamond Lil's has moved and now serves food so we decided to check it out. They have teamed up with Mill Creek Cattle Co and have a huge menu. We loved the new location. It's where the old Vintage Restaurant used to be, right on the lake. The restaurant has been redecorated and looks very nice and clean. Four of us went for dinner and the food was VERY good. Each one of us had something different and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the chicken fried steak. It was so delicious, I will order it again. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. I highly recommend people should check them out. You won't be disappointed.
Review Source:Good times in big bear! I was there on a Sunday night. I forgot to sign in because I was too drunk and tearing up the karaoke machine.. I was there with 6 friends and there were a few locals. The locals were awesome buying us drinks, pool table is free, and the decor is something I've never seen before... Friendliest bar tender I've ever met!
I heard they had a DJ on Saturday.
It's very spacious.
If you are visiting from out of town bring a large group. Very cool dive bar!
One more thing if u want food order take out and they deliver the food to the bar.. Cool right??
It's a dive bar with an older quieter crowd. I like it. Good place for beer and watching a game.
They don't serve any food but you can order from the Chinese restaurant or Barnstormer restaurant as they are attached to the building. I suspect you could even bring in your own take out as long as you order drinks.
What a joke! Â A hangout for all the felons that live on the east side of town. Â The clientele is what you would expect in the area. Low life's!! Â
No food! Â Only tiny bags of chips and really salty popcorn. Â But if your hungry you can eat the horrible food next door at the Mandarin Garden! Â See for yourself! Â
Feels really dirty inside, that's because it is! Â The old carpet is shriveling up and you could trip if not careful, not would I would of expect for a new bar in town, but then again, it's Big Bear City. Â
Glad I was with someone who thought the same! Â Won't never go back!
