We will never go back. It has the same bad service and mediocre (at best) food as it had previously. We stopped for breakfast, although they had time to chat and pour coffee, they had no time to take our order...waited easily 15 minutes before waitress eventually took it. The sausage was lukewarm and not even browned. Too disgusting to eat. The french toast tasted like garlic and salt. Skip this place and go to the apple peddler down the street.
Note to new owner - get new staff!
The old Farm House Restaurant chain is gone: the victim of too fast expansion resulting in more debt than income; a not uncommon business failing.
The original restaurant has a new owner and just opened as Dinner 62. Â The menu is still home cookin' stye or as we now say, comfort food and is what I believe Yelp! means by American traditional. If this is your kind of food, figure three stars; otherwise, rate it two stars.
The portions are still large: good for workers and others who burn lots of calories, people who want to take home a meal to avoid some cooking and those who wish to emulate the late Iz Kamakawiwo'ole in achieving a huge size. (Of course both Iz and his twin brother died young.). The kid's menu didn't look very healthy, as usual with most restaurants where hot dogs and other fast food-type items are foisted on the youngsters. The smart parents, especially for dinner, share their meal with the kids to give them healthier food and handle the oversize portions.
I had the veggie omelet with biscuit (to go) and home fries. The omelet was good but the home fries were very oily. I asked the manger or owner about them and he said due to an equipment breakdown on a temporary basis the potatoes are being fried. On the expectation that the home fries will improve, I gave a third star.
