It's a pretty nice sports bar here in latrobe and greensburg. Â Great bar food selection and the wait staff in the dining room are efficient yet the staff at the bar is hit or miss. Â I ordered a soda during the day and wanted to relax for a half hr or so before moving on and the bartender was unattentive and didn't seem to care too much about asking me for anything else or refilling my drink. Â Look straight at me and knew I needed more to drink but my bill must have been too insignificant for any service. Â I only always stiff on the tip if it is blatant bad service and I did at that time and haven't been back to the bar. Â
However, Â they do have great food and the atmosphere is one of a kind for a non-chain restaurant and when I go back it is always in the dining room.
Literally moved from parking lot for Sharky's to here - based on Yelp reviews, but was not thrilled. Â Sat at the bar, kind of busy but the bar staff seemed more interested in chatting with friends than paying attention. Â
Ordered 1/2 Rack and Wing combo - Ribs were totally forgettable, lukewarm and the sauce - well my 12 year old can make a better sauce ( thought he does rock in the kitchen) Â - the WIngs, which had so many good reviews - MEH - apparently it was wing night, so the couple seated next to me said they make a bunch up in advance so not thrilled, soggy - had the second hottest sauce they offered- well remember the 12yr old comment - same here. The Size and meatiness - were very good however. Â The supposed Home Made fries --- BS - straight out of the freezer bag. Â Finished with Fries, Ribs and Wings left over - not worth the calories.
I travel a decent amount - I am thinking that it may be the area - I do not want to knock Pittsburgh - but this is like the 5th time I went to a place with good Yelp reviews and was disappointed around here.
Dino's is great, they have an amazing large garden salad that is served in a taco type bowl and potato patch fries ( order sweet and hot sauce to dip your fries in, you won't regret it). Â The only reason I didn't give them a five is because I wish they would add a veggie burger of some sort because as much as I love their salad it would be awesome to chow down on a veggie burger once in a while.
Review Source:I guess I'd give it 3.5 stars. The beer selection isn't huge, but they do have Sam Adams and the seasonal. There are a few other brews that aren't "standard", so that's good.
The food is good. Although their wings are breaded, they're still pretty good. Good wings should be naked and crispy and these aren't.
Some food tastes rather processed (anything with crab). But their sandwiches are all really good. They also have several great platters served over rice that I like.
The deserts are not good. I mean, they taste OK, but I'd rather go to Burger King and get one of their deserts (which you can do; there's one right beside Dino's). I never get deserts there any more.
Beer prices tend to be cheaper than Sharky's. I get a Sam Adams for about $.75 cheaper at Dino's.
While they have enough TV's some are old or in need of repair. Most may not notice, but several of them have a "haze" of tiny, yellow dots on them. It doesn't keep you form watching the game, but it's distracting for me.
What you won't see much of on the TVs is hockey. They'll play the Pens games, but rarely will you see any other NHL games or international or junior games like you'll see at Sharky's.
Great place to go if you are trying to hang out with your friends/family and watch a game; hell, its even a great place if you dont like sports and you just want an affordable place to get awesome food.
They got great wings here. Â It is all I ever order when I go to Dinos. Â Their sauces are amazing, sweet hot, garlic parm, slicker, you see it on the menu, you can bet its delicious. Â
Their burgers they got here are huge and delicious too. Â My dad got the Steeler burger. Â This thing is a massive thing of meat with all the toppings including a fried egg. Â It doesnt stop there; instead of a bun, this thing is packed between two grilled cheeses.
My sisters salad was even good. Â Packed with chicken, some tomatoes, and an egg. Â What is not to like.
We even got some nachos to munch on too. Â Philly cheese steak nachos. Â Pretty much self explainatory.. cheeses, steak, mushrooms, onions, and peppers. Â Needless to say, the entire plate was wiped clean within 3 minutes of it coming to the table.
If you are looking for an affordable place that doesnt sacrifice quality, Dinos is the place to go. Â There is a second location in Greensburg, and the food is the exact same. Â Oh yeah, and the wing night is 45 cent wings.. cannot beat that. Â Go to Dinos; your stomach will enjoy it.
My sons and I try wings everywhere we go. Â Dino's has the best wings hands down. Â Try the Garlic & Parmesan or the Sweet & Hot. Â For more heat, go for the Super Lewis. Â You won't be disappointed.
For you non wing lovers, the Char-Grilled Chicken Salad is wonderful. Â It comes highly recommended by my wife.
I LOVE DINOS! Â I've been eating there before they moved to their new building. Â If you go there, you must order their wings; they are the standard that I measure all other wings against. Â Mondays and Tuesdays are typically wing nights if you want to eat a bunch. Â Also a great sports bar atmosphere with a bunch of plasma TVs everywhere.
Review Source:Ice cold beer and many on tap. Â Bottomless free popcorn to kill the munchies. Â When it comes time to eat, the sandwiches are amazing and enormous. Â Chicken wings are the best I've ever had. Â For an appetizer I recommend the onion blossom and jalapeno poppers. Â I've been going to Dino's all my life and make it a point to visit anytime I'm in the area.
