DO NOT stay in room 6!
We had stayed in room 2 and one of the single rooms before. Those rooms were clean, with full baths for each. those rooms were just fine, as far as the noise from downstairs. In 2, I could hear those below me, but it was muffled, not bad.
However- in 6 you are directly over the bar and it is like the floor is made of paper. You can hear words clearly- lots of curse words. We couldn't sleep the first night, so we went down to have a drink. There was one extremely loud, obnoxious guy spewing curse words so loud we couldn't hear each other at the other end of the bar.We looked at the bartender to see what he thought of this. He shouted back even louder using curse words too!
I got the distinct feeling that no one is in charge at this place any longer. They definitely should not rent out that particular room.
We stayed at Doc's Irish Inn while visiting family in Canton. Â This is definitely where the small town nightlife is as it was hopping each night we were there! (Relatively speaking of course, considering it is a really small town.) Â The family suite room was perfect for us and our two kids ages 7 and 10. Â However, it is loud at night, since the room is right over the bar/restaurant. Â In Doc's defense, they did properly warn us of the noise before we booked the stay and when we checked in. Â The food is good, but it's pricey. Â So are the drinks and the price of the room. Â Room charges do not include the 9% state hotel tax and we were surprised that the actual cost was more than what was quoted to us on the phone when we booked the room. There is free wi-fi and a light breakfast/coffee. Â Overall it is an excellent choice for a short stay. Â Keep in mind that you must check-in before 11pm.
Review Source:Yhis weekend my wife and daughter went to the Canton Apple & Cheese festival and on the way back my daughter said we had to stop at Doc's. She said they have the best Reuben and spinach & artichoke dip she has ever had. So we stopped. It wasn't crowded and the decor was Irish bar decor but the place was clean and w e seated ourselves. The waitress came over right away with the menus aand our drink order. of course i didn't need a menu since I had to find out how good the reuben was.
The S&A dip was excellent. It was thick and creamy and served with medallions of french bread. Then the open faced reuben came. It looked perfect and huge. The first bite told me my daughter was right. The corned beef was piled high and it was chopped to give it a more tender texture. Â It was really too much for me to eat but I couldn't stop myself. i didn't want to put my fork down. So I didn't. I can't rememeber what my daughter and wife had but I assume that it was good since I was still in the reuben zone.
Don't pass this place up!
