My parents raised my other siblings in Beattyville and took me back here to see where they once lived.  We stopped by The Purple Cow because my parents used to go there when they were younger.  I ordered a burger and fries.  Simply put, they were good ole home cooked burgers made by someone who knew what he/she was doing.  They melted in my mouth they were so good, and the fries were crisp and salted to perfection.  Since my parents are in ill health now, I think back to the good time we had that day and specifically at this restaurant and it brings a smile to my face. If you want an awesome cheeseburger and fries, go here.  It's much better than the nuked, processed, fast food version you find nowadays.

I like this small and cozy restaurant mainly because of its cuisines. Hopefully, you can find local foods which are healthy in there and I prefer it to any kind of restaurant chain. The people who eat there are typically locals and they have a good choice of sandwiches, dinners, and deserts. This restaurant is perfect for seniors or those concerned with what they take in. The restaurant is not fancy with a lot of bells and whistles but it does the trick for healthy eaters like me.

A historic restaurant, operating since 1930s, it still has a historic touch to it. A purple cow motif runs throughout the whole place: there is a big painting of the purple cow on the wall, little statues of the cows everywhere and the furniture with a touch of old times to it. This place is family-oriented and features "country cook'in", as the sign puts it. Everything is cooked from scratch and Soup Beans and corn bread are big hits! Definitely a place to visit, when you are in town.
