The Downtown Tavern

This is definitely the closest thing to a honky tonk run of the mill bars that you will find in downtown Jackson... it may be the only one you will be able to find.

They've got just about everything. Karaoke on select nights, bands, beer, and of course darts and a cigarette machine. Down side is they don't really have any beers on tap, all from bottle. Don't expect too much, This place is simple and keeps it simple. Beer selection is your basic beer: Natty Light, Budweiser products, and possible Blue Moon.

It's a nice place to come out and hang with your friends and grab a drink. Keep your eyes open though. You can find some great opportunities for people watching here as well.

Great food, great service and great music.

A bar with no beer on tap isn't really a great bar in my eyes. But I will say that the tavern does bring in a good crowd on the weekend and have some great live music on occasion. All in all this is just a small town bar.
