A Dozen Vintners

I'm so lucky to have first stopped here years ago.  Tim is great, knowledgeable, and the Watermark cabernets are absolutely stunning.  I ALWAYS look forward to tastings here!

This place looks kind of scary along the road to St. Helena, but inside you will find a classy shop with some excellent wines from smaller producers who don't have their own tasting rooms.  Late on a Saturday afternoon, we had the shop to ourselves, and our host was friendly and very well informed about the wines he was pouring.

They've got coupons for a free tasting scattered around the valley, so look for one before you go.

The building may be a bit nondescript but this tasting room is well worth a stop if you are near St Helena / Calistoga. The proprietor is knowledagable and friendly without any sense of pressure.
