La Condesa

I came to La Condesa for a Yelp Elite event and was totally blown away. All the nibbles we had were out of this world, the staff were so knowledgeable and pleasant and the ambiance is fabulous. As the event was winding down we ordered a round of the Prickly Pear Margaritas. AY CARAMBA! The salt on the rim was hot hot hot in all the right ways. Looking forward to coming back here again!

Don't eat here.  The food isn't flavorful.  It's not Mexican food (although I'm not sure it's trying to be Mexican food).  Overpriced salsa (yes, they charge for salsa).  I've tried the place three times now and never walk away happy - for various reasons.  Service stinks.  Food blah.  Ambience is OK.  

There are way too many places to eat in St. Helena to settle for mediocre food.  Pass on La Condesa and head to Goose and Gander, Farmstead, Market, Cook, French Blue, Terra, Press...you get the picture.  

Interesting that the Yelp Elite event resulted in great ratings.  Makes sense as they likely know this was a yelp elite event and were on their game.  Not sure that creates flavorful food, however.  Pass.

Really for the younger crowd. A bit too loud and trendy. Food is good. Salsa and guac are great. Gelato is superb. If you want good food in a place where you can't really talk to each other, this is your place.
