Great bar for what it is-- we came to watch the UFC fight. Â Good crowd-- fewer people with Ed Hardy gear and over-producted hair than one would expect. Â No cyover. Â Also no volume on the fight. Â Not a big deal.
Food was good-- standard bar food. Â Good happy-hour special on beer (two for one drafts). Â
Noticed a Steelers area downstairs-- that's a plus during football season.
This is by far the best bar in colorado. I come here all the time the staff treat you like family and the drink specials are awesome happy hour is buy one get one. They also do one dollar pitchers on Thursday nights. It starts at 9 but if you get there before then you don't have to pay a cover. They also serve food but I really just come here to get trashed.
Review Source:My first visit was for a satellite-football game party on Saturday, November 19. While we are grateful for the opportunity and cooperation of a bar to accommodate a large group for this annual game, the service was non-existent after the first quarter. The waitress pretty much ignored our table of two for most of the game, and I had to wait to pay for the buffet because they were all too busy to take my money. It wasn't as if the place was full. And speaking of the buffet -- not impressed. Lackluster pasta, overcooked baked beans, and wings that had little or no flavor. Note to self -- Take the time to drive up to Brooklyn's in Denver for the game instead. On a positive note -- the 2 for 1 happy hour was a bonus.
The only good thing was the outcome of the game -- our team spanked 'em.
Dublin House is a legit grab-a-drink-and-have-fun place with your buddies. On a Saturday night at peak hours we were still able to snag a parking spot, make our way inside, and get our first drink within a few minutes. The band was jamming out on stage, some questionable choices in cover song material, but nonetheless following through on the effort to make noise noise noise. The bartender was nice, allowing us to frat out with shots and gum up the works as we huddled over a corner, then ordered a pitcher and retreated to the pool table haven.
The drinks are very reasonably priced. A pitcher of beer was under $10 and the waitresses were doing a great job of making rounds and knowing when it was time for a happy juice refill.
The worst thing I can say about this place is that the pool table and dart boards get so much use that parts of the operation have fallen into a little bit of disrepair. For example most of the pool cues are crooked like Forrest Gump's back if you only tuned in to the first few minutes of the film before he learns how to run. The felt has some interesting patch-work roughness and I am totally blaming that for dropping a game of nineball I never should have lost. On the dartboard I would say most of the darts have some issues: the new-age thing that replaced the fun metal spiky thing on the dart tip is bent like Ralph Wiggum's wookie from that Simpsons episode. Which leads into trouble when you want your masterly thrown dart to actually stick in the bullseye rather than ricocheting off the board and hitting a drunk fratboy or Cadet.
This is a fun place if you are in the mood to have a few shots, drink light beer, and play pool/darts. I will be back.
I have to echo Grant W's review from a few weeks ago - The Dublin House can be a little hit or miss. Â It's a fun place that seems dedicated to good music, football and drinking. Â Nothing wrong there. Â But sometimes the service can be veeeerrrrrryyy slow. Â I don't like going to search for the waitress, ya know?
The irish nachos are delicious and a perennial favorite. Â The wings are pretty good and they have this kind of spicy pork on the bone thing (I obviously forget what it's called) that is really addictive. Â You've been warned.
Happy hour brings two for one draft beers - okay! Â The quality of the manhattans is still unknown...
Closest thing to Northside Tavern (Cincinnati, OH) that COS has. When we went they had bagpipes and drums. For that reason alone I enjoyed it and need to make a note to go back to expand on my review and change my rating. I couldn't drink at the time so I don't feel I can say OMG GREATEST BAR EVER until I try their wares :)
Review Source:Lots of mixed feelings about the Dub House. Â When they are on point its one of my favorite places to go for karaoke and drink specials. Â Very laid back and never really an atmosphere where you think a fight will break out. Â But then there are days that it's just bad...I have sat there over 20 minutes before anyone even knew I was there for a drink. Â I have gotten cold/frozen food there on one occasion. Â I do like to go and get the buffalo chicken wrap or the pork wings from time to time. Â Decent place from time to time.
Review Source:The Dublin House is my favorite bar in Colorado Springs. Usually my group sets up by the dart boards and stays for hours.
The food is pretty good. The guys I know love their hot wings, and they have some healthy salad options as well. Great drinks, happy hour is 2 for 1.
The bartenders and servers there are absolutely fantastic. Now that my husband and I are living up in Denver we really miss the "family" feel we got there.
They've got darts, pool, and poker games some nights. For entertainment they have live bands on the weekends a lot, and karaoke just about every night.
Interesting mix of people. Â The place is bright but there is a lounge area with a live band. Â A smoker-friendly patio is just a hop skip and jump from the bar.
A busy place where you are sure to run into a familiar face.
The staff is friendly and the karaoke area is always happening. Â The pool tables are a nice break from the zaniness around.
Enjoy!
