Quick service and excellent air conditioning. Basic burgers, salads and sandwiches during the week.  Extended BBQ dinner menu on weekends  Enjoyed the veggie burger.

Great patty melt and fresh cut fries from real potatos. This place is a winner.

I kind of hate to write this review but I really can't rationalize any more than two stars.  Let me start by saying that this place has great potential.  We stopped on our way up to mammoth because we were too tired for the 2-3 hour dinner experience of the Still Life Cafe next door.  This place had great reviews so we figured it would be fine.  I ordered the pit style beef and my husband ordered the grilled chicken.  The soup and salad came quickly.  The house-made blue cheese dressing was good and my husband enjoyed his clam chowder.  Our iced teas were refilled promptly.  Dinner was the problem.  It took a bit over an hour between sitting down and receiving our dinner entrees.  This was too long in my opinion but I could have gotten over it if the food was any good.  My pit style beef was a pile of dry luke warm shredded meat.  The okie potatoes were a wet tasteless mess with barely cooked bacon.  My husband's grilled chicken was raw.  That bird bled deep red when he cut into it.  He sent the chicken back for more cooking.  It came out 15 minutes later still raw, he sent it back again.  Three times the chicken was returned and it came back still bloody (not a little pink but bleeding!).  By the time it came back the third time we had been there for 2 hours and gave up asking for the chicken to be removed from the bill.  They did give us a slice of pie for our troubles and the pie was good.  I will probably give this place another try hoping that it will be better and I can change my review.  But until then this is the best I can rationalize.  Based on our experience I do not recommend the pit style beef or the grilled chicken.  The soup, salad dressing, pie and biscuits were good.  Not a huge fan of the beans (too sweet for our taste but they may appeal to others).
