Good prices on food....well, not so much. Â The reason this place is packed on a weekday evening is that it's the only game in town...(Silver Springs Shores, that is). Besides fast food, there is no other sit-down eatery in the area. Â The food is OK, but as a surgical price-driven shopper/diner, it's overpriced for the area. Â Service is uneven and depends on whether they 'know' you...as in so many places. Â The saving grace is a good happy hour and all hours $1.00 draft beer. Â So, mostly ignore the food (come on....$3.65 for a basket of fries...!?) and enjoy the reasonable drinks!
Review Source:Great wings, but the sauce is nowhere near the level of heat that it should be. Â The place has a friendly atmosphere and staff, but it can get overcrowded, very fast, which can make for an annoyance if you show up with family. Â The only thing that really bothered me was that when I ordered up a brew, they wouldn't accept my US Passport as an acceptable form of ID. Â Its from the Government, come on... All in all, it really wasn't a bad experience, a little annoying, but ok for the area.
Review Source:The dugout is a family-friendly sports bar on Maricamp Road. Their menu consists mostly of bar food and they brag about their "dugout chips".
The place was packed when we arrived (around 7pm) but we didn't have to wait long for a table. It was "seat yourself" which is kind-of strange for a such a busy time and day. The servers seemed confused over who would wait on us, and when another family came in and sat behind us, no one greeted them for ten minutes. I think this place needs a hostess.
Once that got straightened out, things were fine. The server was fast and friendly. The food arrived nice and hot. The one issue I had was that my grilled chicken salad had bacon on it, but that wasn't mentioned on the menu. Since I don't eat bacon, I had to send it back. They made me a new one quickly, which I appreciated. They might want to consider putting descriptions with their menu items.
One great thing about this place was the music! I can't really describe it, but every time a song came on I though, "I love this song! I haven't heard it in so long!" They also have a plethora of tvs for sports watching.
All in all - good service, good food, fun atmosphere. A solid three star experience in Ocala!
